    The role itself is interesting; I am glad I do not work in that section anymore.
    The good thingsI did get the opportunity to learn new skills. Most colleagues treated others with respect.
    The challengesManagement committed to providing me with specific training courses and to pay for my university study tuition for one semester; in 18 months this was not provided. Pay was low. The section had a lack of direction, this could explain the toxic work environment.

    A friendly, switched on work place.
    The good thingsThe Sydney offices are located on the harbour foreshore in Pyrmont which was is an easy commute on the light rail. The general vibe amongst staff was friendly, collaborative and positive. Working conditions were standard APS, which is not bad.
    The challengesI had a great manager, team and a project I was interested in. Other departments in the ACMA seemed less interesting and the quality of the executives and managers varies greatly. A bad manager could make your life in a place like this pretty hellish. Budget cuts and staffing freezes may have changed the culture of this workplace.
