Toxic - avoid unless you want quick money
The good thingsPeople in the engine room trying to do good work and deliver.
The challengesToxic culture within the project and broader business, that has eroded any ability to meet customer's expectations. Dysfunctional executive and senior management who are in self-preservation mode. Dubious perspective on the importance of quality, which is being undermined in a vain attempt to meet schedule.

The good thingsGreat opportunity to support the customer. Work/home life is great with a flexible schedule Support from leadership is good

    Nepotism runs rife here.
The good thingsSome great people, work is absorbing, addictive
The challengesNepotism: hiring mates or direct family members over more qualified and experienced professionals, which is disheartening and unethical. Very cliquey. Witnessed some pretty shocking behaviours from senior leaders. Poor planning by some very senior leaders.

Overall, my experience at Babcock international is very good and recommended to others to work at Babcock.
The good thingsBabcock Agile policy is very good so you can balance your work life.
The challengesThere is an always challenges when you have met the workload (production) deadlines. I am unable to describe the difficulty as most of the staff are very supportive and helpful.

A rightful cause, hampered by administrative bureaucracy and incompetence.
The good things- Good agile working policy, although manager dependent. - If exposed to the customer, shared sense of purpose working for their cause and contributing towards their challenge(S). - Genuine drive for diversity.
The challenges- IT environment from the early 2000's, with very little movement or appetite for moving with the times. - Outdated and unproductive physical and IT working environment for across functions. - Company awareness of issues, with plans in place to resolve, however, often tackles to many initiatives at once, leading to stagnation. Often feels like one step forward, two steps back.

Focused on internal difficulties - little concept of customer service in dealing with a major customer I was required to deal with.
The good thingsThe team I worked with were a great group of Engineers.
The challengesSystems and Processes to get things done obscure and difficult at best, deliberately complex and with single points of failure at worst.

Great 6mth contract filling in whilst someone was on maternity leave made a few improvements in my role automating a lot of the manual tasks.
The good thingsGreat staff easy to work with and open to a new fresh view on things and adapt to changing processes.
The challengesSome staff members have been there a long time and are extremely reluctant to change and push back because they think they know better.

    fairly unimpressed thus far.
The good thingsbabcock have a killer coffee machine, it goes to great expense tomaintain. sadly this is extent of their generosity as it's definitely not shown in anything else.
The challengesmanagement is mediocre, leadership is confused. it's very reactionary and not very structured when it comes to dealing with unknowns. training is very lacking and people get to stay longer than they need to because of this.

I would never work there again, no matter how much they offered me
The good thingsSome people who work there are very good (although most of the good ones have left)
The challengesA terrible blame culture, a totally disconnected and disinterested senior management/executive team, not very interesting work
