Don't go there waste of time and effort
The good thingsThe staff outside of Mgt were nice.
The challengesMgt were disappointing really toxic and unreasonable. Poor systems, no training and zero support. HR left me out to dry despite me trying to explain my reports x 100, overall a disappointing workplace.

I do not recommend working here if you value your overall wellbeing.
The good thingsDealing with excellent customers.
The challengesNot enough permanent staff to allow permanent staff to use their leave entitlements. For a place that prides itself on supporting new & existing families in the early years of parenthood, they definitely don’t offer that family friendly focus to their staff. Taking time off to care for your child when they are sick you are heavily questioned, even when you provide a medical certificate. Expected to use your own vehicle for work & not get reimbursed & frowned upon when you say no. When I first started it 2015 it wasn’t so bad but it has progressively went down hill as change of store managers happened. A high turn of staff happened. I ultimately left in 2023 with my mental health shattered & looking back now, I question why did I stay so long in such a toxic environment. They genuinely do not care about their staff wellbeing. Not once was I asked if I was OKAY. And even when I requested a change in hours to deal with my mental health I had no response.

    Toxic Management and high turnover
The good thingsYou're lucky if you have a good manager and you meet some good hard-working people, but those people don't last very long due to high turnover
The challengesWorking in the warehouse is thankless work, management knows how busy the warehouse is especially with deliveies coming in everyday and during busy sales yet they expect you to keep up with no help, while also serving and making sales on the shop floor (which is not the warehouse storepersons job). Managers are only interested in making themselves look good to their higher ups, No training is provided by them only by understaffed and overworked employees that are literally running the store while management sit in the office barking orders through the ear pieces and growling at employees like a child for not meeting their impossible ever changing standards. Having a different opinion from the manager and assistant manager will get you put in a meeting where the managers will outright blame you for the problems. Many of my co workers left in one go.

Not too bad. If you know the right people, this company is for you.
The good thingsIf you are good at your job, you get rewarded with training new staff and being the person everyone goes to for support. Staff in store are good.
The challengesStores Ops isn’t very diverse. if you complain about someone, they don’t really take it seriously. And you’re working overtime on a full time salary and not getting paid overtime. It’s not a prerequisite however, as management it’s kind of expected to keep the store to standard.

    Rewarding, inclusive, valued.
The good thingsGreat work/life balance. Amazing company that invests in individuals and prioritizes people. Rewarding being able to help parents and customers with knowledge and go on a life journey with them through their pregnancy. Individuals recognized for their good work through value awards each quarter.

Worked for this company for a few years in a sales person sense before moving into management. The business is strong and supportive, loved the connections I made with customers and enjoyed the challenge of my first management position, but the dead weight staff I inherited, made my job almost unbearable. Had a really hard time managing them out and in the end I resigned because I couldnt deal with their complete incompetence anymore and having to constantly do their jobs as well as mine.
The good things- great discount - opportunities to progress for people who work hard and work to align with company values - supportive area management + regional management - connections and friendships formed with customers
The challenges- virtually impossible to get rid of dead weight staff on contracts who should have never been hired. - downsizing during difficult economic climate means managers are stretched very thin to cover many positions with little to no back up if you’re sick/need to take time off.
