Good people at floor level but toxic elsewhere. Can be hard to help without the appropriate resources and support from management.
The good thingsSome really good workers who want to do the right thing by the clients. Clients are also great to work with.
The challengesManagement make things very difficult, far more interested in money than truly helping clients. Have had struggles with clients wanting to reduce their services and pressured into not doing so. Advocacy is very hard as management aren't responsive or genuine. Lack of training or career development.

A workplace to evolve, grow and make a difference!
The good thingsBayley House has a wonderful workplace environment. Every person is supportive and caring. I feel like I'm part of a much larger purpose and each day my role has meaning and it brings me pleasure. The management team is available, caring, inspiring and most importantly trusts me for the role I was hired to do.
The challengesMelbourne lockdowns have been challenging as I do most of our work from my homeoffice and looking forward to meeting clients in person. It hasn't been difficult though just adapting to change.

Bayley House is a great place to work
The good thingsA great team, family friendly working environment with peers and management that look out for you. New ideas are listened to and welcomed.
The challengesTransition to the NDIS has been thought, external constraints have brought challenges. Moving forward, administration in NDIS is lean and the greatest challenge is to be as efficient as possible. Embracing efficiency and improvements is essential to working well within the sector.

Bayley House delivers for clients and for staff; mandate for growth with a focus on great client outcomes!
The good thingsClients; positive, resilient, responsive Staff; great mix of new and longstanding. Strong commitment to client outcomes and great sense of sharing across teams and mutual support Values; positive values, respectful environment and relationships Direction; appetite for growth with focus on supporting people with intellectual disability to achieve goals and access the community
The challengesNDIS; great scheme, wonderful philosophy but hugely bureaucratic and constant downward pressure on prices is very problematic Supporting our amazing workforce, especially through COVID times Assisting families to navigate the NDIS maze

On the whole, extremely positive. I love working here.
The good thingsGreat work environment with genuine friendships amongst colleagues. Support when you need it and most of all a great place for clients to be supported to develop their skills. I personally feel that the past year has shown exactly how strong our staff team is, in particular management. During COVID and adapting to working from home, I have always felt supported and valued as an employee.
The challengesConstant evolution of the requirements we have to work within. While this is necessary in order to keep delivering high quality services, change can be hard.

I feel heard, acknowledged, rewarded and appreciated and in turn, I hope to pass this forward.
The good thingsGreat culture of people focused on delivering positive outcomes to clients and going over and above to support their families. It has had it's challenges in the past but with new leadership and a great plan the future looks very exciting.
The challengesStandard NFP restraints, a dynamic disability sector and uncertainty from the NDIS makes for the usual challenges for all providers but specific to Bayley House the greatest challenge for management is the pressure to keep up which means busy days.

Board and Management are found to be lacking in competency.
The good thingsReasonable working conditions and mostly good people to work with. They do a great job looking after the clients.
The challengesManagement leaves a lot to be desired. Unable to make the difficult hard decisions to improve the company. Too many people in roles that are beyond their abilities which leads to frustrations and inefficiencies.

A great place for someone who wish to help the underprivileged, and in this case the intellectual disabled to grow their self esteem and have a great life.
The good thingsAutonomy, ideas put forward are listen to. With a small community based organisation, everyone is treated with respect and cared for. Not just a number like large corporate.
The challengesThe management appreciate continuous improvement ideas. The challenge is to embrace the organisational values and client needs and blend them together.
