Would be a good workplace if a few key management members resigned. The good thingsFriendly staff and flexible work environment. Good professional learning opportunities, especially for those willing to step outside their typical role responsibilities (ie ability to be on the policy committee or WHS roles).
The challengesHigher management in Children's Services lacked knowledge and experience, and are inconsistent with their expectations. Management are very rigid in their styles and stuck in their ways. Very little professional recognition or respect for the Childcare Directors and Educators, especially for those going above and beyond their role description. Extremely high turnover of staff, particularly School Age Care Directors. No probation period feedback (or any feedback, even when requested) or willingness to conduct performance reviews. Very unprofessional School Age Care teams, including management. Arguments in meetings and people storming out and/or crying is not uncommon.
