The best job in that you learn more about yourself through helping others. The good thingsThe good things about working here was the collaboration with multiple disciplinary clinicians. Learning the prescribed programs enabled me to transfer skills across each discipline to enhance the supports for participants.
Building relationships with participants is very rewarding, especially celebrating goals they achieve. I enjoyed hearing participants report how they have progressed in their health goals and how happy they feel.
The challengesI found the mental health conditions in participants was a barrier when delivering physiotherapy and exercise physiology programs. Every therapy session is different and dependent upon the mood of the participant. Finding the right balance of creativity, patience and kindness with assertiveness to maintain the purpose of the program.
