Thrown into the deep end from day one
The good thingsFriendly colleagues at team level Team lunches and occasional wellbeing days Exposure to NDIS systems (if you can manage the learning curve independently)
The challengesUnrealistic productivity targets, particularly for new and internationally trained clinicians Insufficient onboarding and support for overseas OTs unfamiliar with Australian healthcare and the NDIS Expectation of significant unpaid overtime Inconsistent and contradictory supervision Excessive performance management and report reviews Burnout culture driven by targets and billing pressures Poor handling of feedback and exit processes

Clinician focused company with genuine flexibility.
The good thingsTruly flexible work arrangements. Company genuinely cares about their employees and their impact in the community. Fun and supportive culture.
The challengesDifficult sector to work in with the tightening of fees in the NDIS which impacts the business in many ways but the leaders work hard to reduce impact on their Clinician day to day work life.

    Inconsistent and ever-changing strategic focus
The good things* Lots of events and celebrations
The challenges* The founders are too involved in the day to day business * Priorities and projects change regularly and never have enough lead time * Feels like if you follow the party line you would be well looked after, but if you questioned anything, you were on the out.

The best job in that you learn more about yourself through helping others.
The good thingsThe good things about working here was the collaboration with multiple disciplinary clinicians. Learning the prescribed programs enabled me to transfer skills across each discipline to enhance the supports for participants. Building relationships with participants is very rewarding, especially celebrating goals they achieve. I enjoyed hearing participants report how they have progressed in their health goals and how happy they feel.
The challengesI found the mental health conditions in participants was a barrier when delivering physiotherapy and exercise physiology programs. Every therapy session is different and dependent upon the mood of the participant. Finding the right balance of creativity, patience and kindness with assertiveness to maintain the purpose of the program.

    Stay away
The good thingsFriendly stuff and good interview process
The challengesManagement- the company is run by married directors who seem to cut costs wherever they can. The company is a start up disguised as a growing company so management seem inflexible and makes decisions based on emotion rather than logic.
