Worst company I have ever worked for.
The good thingsWork Life Balance No one actually knows what anyone is doing!!
The challengesManagement Lack of communication Lack of acknowledgment and support No consideration of the hours/days you put into your role to get it done as long as it is done. No care for your mental or physical welfare.

an uphill battle with a steep learning curve but well worth it as I do finish each day feeling like I have made a difference and earned my salary.
The good thingsManagement Support is absolutely excellent and the support for Family Issues is second to none. Each day brings its own different challenges but thats what makes the role exciting as you dont feel like your stuck in a rut doing the same thing day after day. Great team of people to work with overall and very friendly from Executive Management down to the workshop floor.
The challengesFar too many clashing Processes, Procedures and numerous IT Systems which are all archaic and cumbersome which makes it quite frustrating. Not well integrated and difficult to get the hang of what needs to be done etc is a real learning curve - all makes getting things done that much harder and time consuming than it needs to be, and no doubt far more costly as a result.

Fast paced and challenging environment, good people and opportunities
The good thingsFast paced and dynamic environment, plenty of challenges and new tasks to overcome, independence and responsibility to undertake tasks. Good work colleagues and environment with very little politics. Management well experienced in the company and support to enable outcomes to be delivered.
The challengesResourcing and capacity required to deliver objectives, and aligned with that short term, reactive focus, as opposed to long term, planned culture.

    Challenging but rewarding
The good thingsOpportunities to learn and grow. Consistent recognition for challenging the status quo. The majority of employees...
The challengesA small percentage of employees who think that their job should be handed to them on a silver platter. To see people with so much experience and knowledge to offer, but prefer to run down the business instead of positively contribute to the continuous improvement mindset most of us have is difficult to swallow. I sincerely wish them all the best in their next job which will most likely not be good enough for them either...

As a long term employee in the technical side of the business I have had to look forward to the technical challenges to distract from the fact that advancement and salary increase is unlikely whilst watching on as management decisions from overseas make manufacture and project delivery almost impossible.
The good thingsThe original employees with a lot of knowledge in rail rolling stock manufacture are very helpful, the internal team culture. Working on the manufacture of trains and trams is very interesting.
The challengesOverseas directors applying rules and directives without ever visiting site or having an understanding of industry in Australia. Salary is low and performance management is basically non existent.

The good thingsGlobal organisation that has a high level of support to help you achieve desired outcomes / throughput, building highly technical products
