If not for my coworkers I would have left a long time ago.
The good thingsNice coworkers , onsite canteen , hybrid work available . Directors change every 5 years. If you belong to the favorite group you can get everything you want.
The challengesManagement is a disgrace. People constantly play the favorites game, Jobs are not advertised and get handballed to "mates" . If you are not part of this game you get overlooked , no career progression possible. You need to 100% fit in to an imaginary culture which is impossible. HR is a joke and nitpicks on employees they don't like as they don't fit into the "culture". Once they put you in a certain category you stay there forever. The directors are unavailable for staff when they try to address issues . Rules apply for some and not for others and you can't voice your opinion. Germany sends staff and Australians get overlooked.

    Don’t recommend the company
The good thingsBuilding, coffee, standing desk
The challengesAU leadership and directors are the problem; they live in their own world, sugar-coating issues and presenting an overly optimistic picture when things aren't as promising. A change in leadership is necessary for the company to reach the next level.

    Go somewhere else
The good thingsCoffee, canteen, some colleagues
The challengesThen directors display favouritism, manipulation, and a lack of transparency. The company locally operates in a highly political environment. Disloyal employees were permitted to leave and return with better pay and titles. The company culture has turned increasingly toxic in the last 3-4 years. What is presented as transparency is merely selective disclosure. I would advise against joining the company.

A challenging and rewarding career journey
The good thingsBSH is a challenging and dynamic workplace, in the best way possible. There are new projects and developments happening all the time which means that it's a great place to build skills, exposure to areas outside of your role and to work with international team members. The flexibilty of working from home and office based really helps to maintain a good life balance. The business really looked after employees during covid with various initiatives, perks and ongoing support. One of the best parts of working for BSH has been the people that work their, an amazing and diverse group of professionals who make the day to day work enjoyable.
The challengesBSH is a global business which means that some things take longer to achieve as multiple countries have to be considered although there are benefits to working internationally.

Good colleagues but local executives push their agenda in isolation. Stay away if you can.
The good thingsGood colleagues. Good brands. Good office. Good canteen. Free parking.
The challengesIncompetent local executives, company does not value their staff. Only focus on ticking the boxes to keep Germany happy, not the people. Absolutely understaffed but no one cares. No transparency and poor communication. New system is a disaster.

Amazing to start out in but has become challenging to continue in but will continue to persist in the hopes i can make some changes. Have made some great friends who i value greatly.
The good thingsSome of the people were amazing friends who I will treasure forever
The challengesOme management would micromanage you, other told you that micromanagement was unacceptable. The culture was toxic and horrible. Lots of 2 faced managers and not following through with feedback or requests. No payrises as promised, no feedback or employee development sessions as required. Very bad choices of some management.

Only join if you want to be micromanaged
The good thingsNew office, canteen, free coffee, variety of activities run by the employees (volunteering work, diversity day, car and coffee day)
The challengesDirectors are micromanagers and don’t give the team leaders and managers much power, no empowerment at all. Staff bypass team leaders and managers to Directors which provide no motivation to the middle management. Low NPS score says it all about the company.

It is fantastic to work on such a good products, but the top end management need to replace the middle management to match the products, as the middle management think that they are better than the company as a hole.
The good thingsGreat Products to work on,
The challengesBSH need to improve the management, as it is all about them and not the company.

Avoid this company if you want to be treated fairly
The good thingsFree fruits, free parking, canteen available
The challengesThe Directors have different rules for different people. No open communication and no transparency. It all depends on whether you belong to Sales Marketing or Business Administration, you get different benefits ranging from bonus, pay increase, travel flight classes, promotions and other employee benefits. The love of power is the directors main motivator.

    Wonderful team and working environment
The good thingsThe team I work with is excellent, the culture is dynamic and optimistic with encouragement and team work at its core. There are opportunities to step up, innovate, and challenge the norm and be autonomous. On site parking, subsidised cafe, employee purchase discounts, flexible working conditions (can work from home), minimal overtime.
The challengesMany systems and policies however if you take the time to understand them it’s ok.

great products and career progression options but the working environment is complicated and salary not up to the market.
The good thingsWas able to move around departments, great products and comfortable office
The challengesSalary was well below market, there are a lot of changes at Snr Management level which made it difficult. It is also an overly complicated place to work with too many policies and over engineered systems
