    Needing more life experience!
The good thingsThe casual nature of the position was a nice change to most regular jobs. Depending on how busy the store is determines if you are flat out all day and chasing the clock. Knowing the area you’re working in helps a lot. As a driver you don’t have to know much about cars at all, as long as you can correctly read a product code there’s very little knowledge needed
The challengesThe businesses appreciation for the staff and each store. Christmas parties should be a priority to them and a chance to get people together - bapcor make millions of dollars every year, something better than $100 per person should be allocated to end of year celebrations. MANAGEMENT for certain stores should be better considered, age and maturity should be a factor rather than the buddy system I witnessed!

Not the company it used to be,
The good thingsStaff Discount. some great people to work with.
The challengesLack of staff, lack of training, some very demanding customers who have no respect for staff. Poor management in some cases, I believe they have a problem retaining staff, that pretty much tells me everything.

    Good people, toxic higher management.
The good thingsClose coworkers were amazing, getting out and talking to clients made the job great.
The challengesToxic Store Manager, including higher management. Was being harased by other staff members and management would do nothing about it. Unsafe working conditions; Old vehicles sometimes thousands of kilometers overdue for services, due for major repairs however management would only do temporary fixes over purchasing newer and safer vehicles for their drivers.

No career development. have their favorites yes people. will feed you what you want to hear. Everyone one is jumping ship. poor salary. Company is going backwards rapidly. Trying to sell it off and no one has bought it for 2 years.
    The good thingsManagers conferences
The challengeslack of staff in store, managers expected to be reps and still run the store even with no staff to cover them leaving the store. Upper management have no idea about the industry & challenges and don't listen expect you to be yes person. no lunch breaks work over time every day 45+ hours weeks. They offer incentives and find ways to not payout these incentives due to you not meeting conditions or admin in store even though they acknowledge lack of staff they expect you to work more overtime to get it done. company tries to save as many dollars as it can.

The good thingsGoing home every day
The challengesRegional and state management woefully incompetent. They are only in thier roles due to internal vacancies, not because they are capable and deserve to be. No support, will hang you out to dry & blame anyone else for any failures.

    Depressing
The good thingsMade alot of very great friends throughout my career at bursons. From every aspect from the customer's, coworkers and managers. Sometimes the only thing that kept me going. Learnt alot in my time there but unfortunately it's unlikely that anyone now will have the opportunity to have the same.
The challengesWhen it comes to the day to day its what you should really expect. Some good some bad. But it's the internal politics that really infected this company over the years. Was there for over 10yrs. It's a damn shame really. Seen some really talented people in all sorts of roles within the company get pushed out. Myself when I found myself under an inexperienced manager often my work life balance would be completely thrown out and usually guiltied or had the threat of progression halted if I didn't constantly cover for staff or themselves. Even to deal with issues and questions from customers when themselves had no clue how to deal with. This is one of very many issues I dealt with and stood tall with, all due to misplaced loyalty and opportunities that were dangled in front of me. After a decade of this, along with meeting or exceeding the expectations and targets. When I had my personal life breakdown and wasn't doing well at all. In a time where if anything just needed some understanding and compassion. This company or the regional manager decided to put me under more pressure and distress. Even tho I was completely open to management when my life feel apart. Claim to be an advocate and have understanding mental health. I can whole heartedly say they definitely don't. I regret committing a major part of my professional career here.

A create proud company destroyed in record time with the management change.
The good thingsMost of the people in the Store network are good, hard working people.
The challengesManagement have no direction and no idea what they are doing. If you read some of the other reviews the work "toxic" comes up often. It is the perfect work to describe the environment that senior management have created. A fish rots from the head down. So has Burson.

Claim to be in it together but company is stuck in the past, expecting Managers to do large hours without Pay. Claim to give a Damn but are Told That " that's the way it is" when you raise a concern
The good thingsGreat team at store level
The challengesLack of training, Constantly being told "that's the way it is" or " I had it worse" from Management.

Don't do it...keep looking scrolling past
The good thingsWorking with some great people
The challengesUnreasonable unpaid overtime on top of a already low remuneration and expected to work weekends unpaid on top. Poor upper management with no direction, even new management seems to be following the same poor professionalism. Was once a great company you could be proud to say you worked with but not anymore.

High management turnover meant that I missed out on securing a permanent contract, and was let go because they reintroduced a "no casual staff" policy.
The good thingsThey employed me during the covid lockdowns.
The challengesHigh staff turnover, especially management. Unrealistic delivery times, and inconsistent policies. Ridiculous levels of gossip.
