Supportive Leadership, Strong Work-Life Balance, and Meaningful Impact
The good thingsCam Can is a fantastic organisation to be part of. The team delivers high-quality, person-centred support and genuinely cares about achieving positive outcomes for Members. There’s a strong emphasis on building independence, meaningful connections, and tailoring supports to each individual’s goals. What really stands out is the positive workplace culture. There’s a genuine focus on work-life balance, with flexibility and understanding that allows staff to perform at their best. Leadership is approachable, supportive, and actively invests in the development and wellbeing of their people, creating an environment where staff feel valued, heard, and empowered. Cam Can is a professional, values-driven organisation that makes a real difference for both its Members and its team.
The challengesA stronger focus on consistency across teams and clearer processes would enhance an already positive workplace. At times, decision-making can feel a bit centralised, so continuing to empower staff with more autonomy and confidence would be beneficial. There’s also an opportunity to further streamline systems and communication to support efficiency as the organisation grows.

An organisation that holds values close to its heart, with people with disability being front and centre of everything we do.
The good thingsFantastic team, with amazing outcomes which improve the lives of people with a disability who we support.
The challengesA changing world with the NDIS. Whilst the support to people with disability is consistently high, we have had to make significant changes to our systems and processes to catch up with the modern world. Most changes are now implemented :)

Unpleasant with little opportunity for a work life balance due to unrealistic expectations.
The good thingsCompany Car was the most beneficial point of working for this company
The challengesService Coordinators are not allowed to switch their work telephones off at all and are on call 7 days per week outside the normal 9am - 5pm hours. The wage is salaried and the overnights, weekends and public Holidays are not reflected in the salary package. In addition to this Service Coordinators are expected to attend out of hours work events and are made aware that it has been noted if they do not attend. The organisation's CEO and Managing Director place unrealistic expectations and workloads on both the Operations managers and Service Coordinators. Work Functions are an exercise in division of perceived classes within the organisation despite the fact that each person at said functions are in Management roles of varying capacity.
