    Toxic.
The good thingsThe coast is a beautiful place to live and if you can work locally then all the better.
The challengesExtremely toxic culture with deep rooted issues and long running groups and factions, with management that perpetuate these issues.

    Run. Run far away.
The good thingsThere are some decent, funny, clever people at the coalface doing their best in the mess they have been given.
The challengesPoor leadership from the very top down. Money constantly being wasted. So much red tape preventing anyone from achieving anything. The good staff leave or are forced out for pointing out/trying to fix failings so that management can avoid having to take responsibility for the mess.

    Toxic, chaotic, dysfunctional culture
The good thingsFlexible working hours, rostered days off, Central Coast locations, ability to purchase extra leave
The challengesVery toxic culture, poor management, poor knowledge or awareness of good practice or good processes, conflicts between Wyong and Gosford ends, IT dept breaking Gosford systems and work flows, power plays, lack of empathy and refusal to pay staff in line with the work they are asked to do

Great to work locally in the early nineties tech and culture!
The good thingsBiggest employer on Central Coast. Work near where you live. About the only place with a sizeable tech team. People are friendly. Good banter. Relaxed atmosphere
The challengesAll the things that are bad about government. Poor documentation. Poor governance. Poor process. Inefficient. Frequent outages. Siloed and non-responsible roles. No clear sense of direction. Thin or non existent strategy. High turnover of upper management

Not good - everyone wants out hence why so many jobs advertised
The good thingsStaff and executive leaders are still trying to serve the area but it’s an uphill battle
The challengesForced amalgamation by the NSW State Government has caused so much damage operationally; productivity and morale wise. Chaotic with next to no help from NSW Government - IT systems and processes are all over the place.

This council used to be a great place to work that valued staff but in the last few years has lost touch with what the community expects from council and also has not recognized staff achievements across the organization as a whole
The good thingsThe people who work below management level are great and hardworking and deserve to be complemented
The challengesWay to much middle management and overspending of money on material things that would not benefit most of the community
