The interview has been misleading to mask the reality of the workplace.
The good thingsThe building has showers.
The challengesToxic culture under the knowledge of senior management. Irresponsible managers. IT systems lagging the industry by 40 years.

Most depressing job you will ever have. Avoid Avoid Avoid !
The good thingsThe work hours nothing else.
The challengesIncompetent management, no support for staff, very unsafe and no support from safety team, you're expected to use your own car and pay for items to keep client happy . Very toxic

Don't waste your time, worst job ever.
The good thingsOnly good things are your colleagues, co workers.
The challengesManagement needs a complete overhaul, read the other negative reviews and take them seriously, they are real. You will spend heaps of time at work and never be home, single technician doing a 3 person job.

Couldn't even be bothered to introduce themselves and provide any form of job site training etc.
The good thingsNothing , I would not even bother sending an application.
The challengesMaybe provide induction & meet and greet / training ,before expecting a brand new casual employee to go out and away from the location applied for to do work . Never heard back from you after that . Un professional as.

No communication, pass the buck method on speed dial, once in a lifetime process experience. ONCE!
The good thingsThe employment manager had a sense of humour
The challengesWell to be listening to the recruitment manager explain to me how strongly he runs by communication and how he can pick a good person from a bad to then completely have 0 communication between me himself and the recruitment team is astonishing. He managed to accept me and GIVE me the job to then go through the steps of cloths my roster absolutely everything and explainning how the desk will sent the modules/paperwork for me to fill out.14 hours before my first day nothing's been sent. To be sent an email saying unfortunatly I dont have the job anymore. Long story short it wasnt his call to make. And the front desk service couldnt understand how or why it happend. Unfortunatly it got to the point where neither of them could take responsibility of whos fault it was and litterally started blaming the other person for it back and fourth. A typical moment of pass the buck and lack of communication... to Finnish it all off the lady ended with so would you like us to keep your resume on file?

    Gets worse every year
The good thingsMost of the people I work with are nice
The challengesOver time at City, working conditions have steadily declined despite the continued promotion of “flexible work arrangements.” Policies have shifted from fully remote during the pandemic to increasingly rigid in-office requirements and stricter hours, even for teams without external stakeholders. Employee surveys are conducted regularly, but meaningful changes rarely follow, with leadership focusing on minor fixes rather than core issues. Decision-making at the senior level often appears inconsistent, with resources allocated unevenly and new roles created for select individuals, which can foster perceptions of favoritism. Overall, the organization struggles with reduced flexibility, questionable resource management, and a lack of transparency, all of which risk impacting employee morale and retention.

CityFM is a total shambles & that's a management problem. At the end of each shift you work, you are miserable from the treatment you're given by CityFM & Bunnings, they make you feel worthless. DO NOT WORK HERE if you value your wellbeing.
The good thingsNothing comes to mind of anything good about CityFM. The first Area Manager was okay. The 2nd Area Manager, took 4 months to come out to the site I was looking after. She never listened but always took Bunnings side when there were issues raised. The NSW State Manager doesn't know how to do his job effectively & does not meet staff.
The challengesDealing with Bunnings staff & management who are extremely toxic. They expect you to do more within the hours you work, & that includes jobs you aren't supposed to do that force you to stay back & not get paid for. PPE takes months to get from CityFM. Being called at all hours by the Area Manager to cover other sites. No induction & training modules to be done in your own time.

Just do not bother, it’s a waste of time for extra drama in your life.
The good thingsNot really anything good could be said, they have a hard time keeping staff, let alone managers. Just in the 2 months being with them they went through 3 site managers. That’s bad, really BAD internally.
The challengesThe extra drama and bickering between client and staff and the internal fighting between staff and managers. Definitely not a healthy workplace. There is many other places you’re better off from drama central.

Company needs to examine the competence, experience, ethics and honesty especially of its appointed MID management roles up to and including GM's titles as the fish always rots from the head.
The good thingsThis Company was a genuinely good company to work with and some high quality management in place, a very optimistic outlook. Opportunity to build some very high performing Teams.
The challengesSome mid to senior management needs to be held to account for their actions. Unfortunately as with many companies like this under expansion, past few years 'diverse' type hires have lowered the bar in management capability and quality, local knowledge being the best knowledge for best results. Unfortunately, exposing the company to fake management hires and opening the gates for imposters. In turn, increasing staff turn over and losing experienced honest employees.

Be careful what role you choose. This place needs a refresh in leadership.
The good thingsDecent pay for senior project manager
The challengesThe leadership was awful and lacking in skillls and experience. Seemed to be scared of high level managment. They want to support their external clients, yet treat their stafff horriblly. Then they wonder why their clients are looking elsewhere. I was very disapointed in this oraganisation.

It was the worst hiring process I have ever been through, lack of guidance on what to do and poor communication. Induction was a 1 hour video of stuff I had already read when signing the contract, (Was told I'd be shown around and given my tag to get in). Next morning I come to work and they don't even let me in because I didn't have a tag? Said it was my first day and you guys havent given me paperwork I have asked for, but nope they insisted I wait. Major stuff around.

Job should read Shut up/sit down robots wanted. A nightmare which still makes me cringe. Shocking treatment by managers which put multiple team members in tears. Staff turnover through the roof with members quitting due to management treatment. Managers in the Procurement Team at Mulgrave anger when certain tasks are not completed but are never around to offer sufficient training. You cannot ask fellow team members as they are not eligible to train. You end up being told your performance needs to be better although no one is around to train you. If the system is slow/down (which is constantly, sometimes 1-2hrs a day), you are still required to complete the same kpi's. They tell you your numbers are not important during training but then use it as a metric to let people go. Multiple people including myself in their probation period were told in their 1on1 meetings that their performance was extremely good! However those who spoke about issues were then let go for unsatisfactory results
    The good thingsCleanliness of facility
The challengesNothing to like. A toxic work environment that epitomizes the rat race. Extreme micro management. Managers who bad mouth employees who speak up behind their backs. Being timed on all your breaks including bathrooms breaks or even to get a drink of water.

The challengesmicro management, being timed on all your breaks include bathroom breaks, no matter how hard you try you arent doing good enough. It is genuinely a good role and good pay, but everything else kind of sucks unless you keep to your self and don't speak. wouldn't apply for another job here

The good thingsGreat Culture and communication from management. Transparency in decisions and growth opportunities. I feel valued, respected and appreciated at work. Coffee and snacks available in the office, standing desks and great people.
The challengesMarket in recruitment can flux up and down so this can have an impact on the day to day, but would be anywhere.

I gained a wealth of experience working at City and for the most part, I was happy. Unfortunately, KPIs come first before the welfare of staff. The critical incident desk is severely undermanned leaving front line staff to pick up the pieces.
The good thingsVery comprehensive training. The team have a wealth of experience. There is a lot of collaboration within the team and everyone will put their hand up to help one another out. My colleagues have become my friends.
The challengesThe management values KPIs over the welfare of their staff. You are often working short-staffed and under pressure due to a lack of funding on the critical incident desk.

City is a growing business in the Facilities Management industry, however it has not been able to provide valuable growth opportunity to its employees who have been associated with the organisation for a longer period of time. Hence the employee turnover is higher within the organisation.
The good things- Diverse and multicultural team - Working from Home Flexibility - Open space Office - Supportive team
The challenges- Significant Internal Politics for Career Growth - Less work life balance - Micro Management -

As awful as it gets. You are abandoned on site
The good thingsBunnings staff are understanding of the issues we experience.
The challengesDifferent supervisor every month. You only work around 25 hours p/w and they stretch this out over 5 days a week . Pay is bare minimum compared to other cleaning roles. Constantly requesting you to attend other sites as they have had a no show, even when you have already started your shift at your designated sites. Training is bare minimum, even for someone with no cleaning experience ( one shift at a bunnings sites, if you are lucky and that is pretty much just so they can throw a uniform at you)

A good short term job, but they expect so much out of you.
The good thingsIt is a good opportunity to work and to expand on your cleaning skills. Depending on what store/management you get, you can have a good or bad time.
The challengesThe whole company is very, very poor management. The people they hire can be very incompetence at their jobs. They don't give feedback for the cleaners so they don't know if they are doing anything wrong until it gets out of hand. They promote voilence as they keep people on that talk back and have low anger management. Management most of the time never gets back to you for something important.
