A fundamentally under-resourced company with archaic systems and toxic blame culture. The good thingsThe only good thing was the team. Despite being under-resourced and unsupported, my colleagues were dedicated, hardworking people who genuinely tried to make things work. They deserved far better than what the company provided them.
The challengesThe company is grossly under-resourced. Training was non-existent, minimal induction then left to figure it out alone. Support from other business areas rarely came. Toxic blame culture where mistakes mean finger-pointing rather than learning. The structure undermines managers with convoluted processes and no autonomy. Systems are archaic and site ill-equipped for purpose.
Safety is particularly concerning. The poor safety track record and inadequate safety systems are alarming given the nature of the work. High turnover says it all.
