    A great place to work!
The good thingsMy journey at Colas has been extremely rewarding. I've been fortunate to have my studies funded and to gain valuable experiences through interstate and overseas opportunities. I also feel privileged to work under fantastic management who genuinely supports work-life balance, alongside a collaborative and supportive team.
The challengesI have no challenges in my role - I genuinely enjoy coming to work and collaborating with my colleagues.

Unrealistic Workload, Poor Compensation, and Low Staff Morale
The good thingsFlexibility to work from home
The challengesThe workload assigned is consistently unrealistic, with deadlines that are not reasonably achievable. Employees are often faced with the choice of working additional hours without compensation or facing criticism for not meeting these expectations. Over the course of 11 years, I personally worked an average of 5–10 extra hours per week to ensure tasks were completed to a high standard, without receiving remuneration or acknowledgment for these efforts. This is not an isolated experience, but a common occurrence within the company. Compensation is below industry standards, and there are no meaningful opportunities for career advancement or professional development. Staff morale is notably low, and interpersonal conflicts among colleagues are frequent.

If you have to work here, use it as an experience stepping stone to work somewhere else.
The good thingsIf you are smart and hard working you will get a lot of experience doing other peoples jobs for them.
The challengesManagement culture of promoting people who focus on career progression over competence. You will be stuck answering to managers with no idea what they or you are doing. No work life balance. No organization skills. Constant chaos.
