The good thingsWorking with students and seeing them grow.
The challengesPoor leadership and culture particularly the CEO. Toxic atmosphere, clique groups, money grabbing, poor salaries.

My experience has been defined by supportive people, purposeful work and a growing organisation
The good thingsThe people. There's a special community that genuinely cares about student growth, development, learning and pursuing creative careers. There's a culture of collaboration and purpose. It's one of the best workplaces I've worked out. The flexible work arrangements and autonomy are a real strength and staff are encouraged to pursue their interests & contribute in meaningful ways. I’ve consistently felt seen, valued and supported in my work
The challengesThe pace at Collarts is quick. At a time when higher education is going through much change it feels like the organisation moves faster than most which is a positive but also presents challenges.

I've found my people here - creatives with heart.
The good thingsThe teachers and academics here are incredibly dedicated and inspiring to work with, and the professional staff, many with creative backgrounds, bring great energy and expertise to the team. The students are also great, and getting to share their stories and study journeys is always rewarding. Collarts offers a flexible and supportive work environment, with a friendly culture and plenty of opportunities to grow and upskill in areas you’re passionate about. The organisation has already invested significantly in my professional development, and I truly feel valued here.
The challengesSystems and tech can be slow but they are improving, plus new initiatives, like campus expansions, will improve workflows and collaborations across teams which is a pain point at times.

Working here has been rewarding thanks to its genuine commitment to creativity, inclusion &wellbeing.
The good thingsSupportive and inclusive team culture—everyone is genuinely welcoming and collaborative. Leadership is approachable and transparent Opportunities for professional growth and learning Creative, vibrant environment where new ideas are encouraged Strong focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion - more so than any other workplace I have been in. Flexible work options when you have an appointment etc Meaningful work that makes a real impact for students and the creative community. Free tickets to events through industry partners plus discounts to gym, health insurance, staff involvement in student events etc.
The challengesCollarts is ambitious and wants to succeed. The pace can be quick and like most organisations communication isn't always as great as it can be. Plus some processes and systems are still evolving, so there can be occasional ambiguity or manual workarounds. Collarts is investing in system upgrades though which is great to see.

There's something in the water there; such a great place to work!
The good thingsExcellent place to work, very positive and friendly culture. Great social connections and fun work perks from working in music and arts. The people work hard and play hard. They roll up their sleeves to get things done and support each other and put the students first in everything they do.
The challengesSmall with limited room for upward movement.
