I wouldnt change my time here!! Would highly reccomend.
The good thingsBringing on new staff and seeing them grow and learn. Watching staff develop new skills and then be able to utilise those skills when they support other clients is amazing.
The challengesObtaining genuine staff who want to work with out clients for the right reasons. Disability work is complex but can be so rewarding but not everybody sees this.

Rewarding career, where your contributions are valued.
The good thingsThe workplace culture is amazing, everybody is very friendly and genuinely want to support you. Managers genuinely care about their workers and clients and making a difference.
The challengesSystem and process improvement, however this is apart of continuous improvements in every organisation.

Improvement on communication, leadership & employee wellbeing would strengthen workplace culture
The good thingsWorking in the disability sector can be incredibly rewarding and many frontline staff are genuinely passionate about supporting participants
The challengesThere are opportunities for improvement in communication, leadership transparency, and psychological safety within the workplace. At times there can be a disconnect between leadership decisions and the impact on operational teams. Stronger support structures, clearer communication, and a focus on staff wellbeing would significantly improve the overall employee experience

Toxic work environment. You are constantly being undermined, overworked, under appreciated.
The good thingsThere are some wonderful staff there who are in the role for the right reasons.
The challengesToxic work environment. You are constantly being undermined, overworked, under appreciated. It has a feeling of continually watching your back. The HR process in my opinion is bias to family member who work together and management clicks. You're either in or out.

The challengesCulture of organisation. Promotes self as flexible but is not. Micromanagers. Inconsistent consequences applied to staff. Poor communication.

A caring company with a lot of experience
The good thingsCommunity lifestyle support is a great company to work for. The clients are looked after very well because they have workers assigned to them, who are suitable to work for them. We pride ourselves on ensuring a good quality of life. Their workers are very caring. They go above and beyond to meet the needs of their clients. Another strong point is they're passionate about empowering their clients to get the most out of their lives. Although at times, it gets gross but, all the gross times are outweighed by the amount of benefits that come with it. Working for community lifestyle support is very rewarding. Seeing clients achieve their goals is worth all the hard work.
The challengesShift work in general is a hard thing to deal with. Most workers will agree that a \"day off\" is a precious thing but at the same time we know we're going to get called in. Some days workers are expected to be at another client at the same time they're meant to finish with their client they're already with. It is very easy to get burnt out. Some clients have behavioural issues but that comes with the job. Sometimes, the stress levels can be so high that even a 2 hour shift will make you want to hide away from the world and just enjoy silence and nothingness.
