    Very poor management!
The good thingsGreat environment to find Good friends and colleagues. Free private health
The challengesWorking all hours to get the job done but never get any credit for it! Micromanaging is so Real. Pay is not great if you stay too long! Someone who has been working for over 10 yrs will get almost the same Rate as someone who starts new. Not much room for growth!

Should have joined here earlier !
The good thingsInteresting projects it's always something different and challenging, Pay and benefits are good, Excellent job flexibility, Co-workers across the company both IT and non IT have been great to work with, Immediate Managers are proactive too and very approachable.
The challengesCareer progression is hard, however getting decent hikes each year kind of makes up for it. Better project prioritization would be good for the company budget.

It looks good when you start and downhill from there on.
The good thingsJob security if you don't mind being underpaid
The challengesWith more than a decade experience you get paid less than someone just starting on casual rate. The more you know the less they pay. No effort is rewarded. People take credit for your ideas. Micromanagement gotten worse and worse.

Great company, great training program, staff are well looked after.
The good thingsTraining process is engaging and challenging. The trainer that I've had experience with is very knowledgeable, patient and fair. Very clear with expectations and polite. Subsidised cafeteria is great. Reception staff are lovely. The work can be repetitive at times but is always engaging. I never find myself bored. There is always room for improvement which for me is motivating and exciting. The products are so interesting and genuinely impressive. The building itself is bright and always very clean, great views from the balcony as well.
The challengesNothing about this job is a downside in my experience so far.

    Toxic and lack of accountability
The good thingsCanteen and Quarterly Bonus
The challengesLong term employees (10+ years with the company) show no sense of urgency and expect more entitlements than other employees, are not willing to change processes to improvement, only does the bear minimum and not flexible with the hours of work even when working from home. No one takes responsibility and accountability for their actions and just blames others.

The pay needs to be brought up for the standards of the company to be brought up
The good thingsJob security is the only positive
The challengesLow pay in almost every department, people working here over 10 years have lost any care they had for work, management severely under-qualified, claims the company is flexible in different aspects but isn't flexible at all

A great place to work if you want to stay in the same job... forever
The good thingsMost individuals were lovely to say hi to everyday and were genuinely happy to help when you asked. There is limited hierarchy politics in most departments, in that I felt that I was able to approach team leaders and managers from other departments and teams (once I had proven that I was worth their time). Subsidised cafeteria and personal relationships made it worth going in everyday (and being able to pay my mortgage).
The challengesLimit opportunities to progress in your career - I guess as per usual, you had to identify opportunities to further train and develop your professional skills and knowledge. Management had little experience, knowledge and demonstration of leadership skills. I saw a lot of micromanaging and unfortunately experienced it too. There are managers that expected authority and respect but did not earnestly work to earn either. I would be careful to recommend this work place to a friend or family. I didn't feel like complaints were taken seriously, and reasonable actions were not taken when required.

Overall a nice company to start at in devices, but don't stay too long
The good thingsGreat work life balance. Family based values, small company mentality. Occasionally nice perks like being able to take your partner with you to o/s conferences
The challengesUpper management (US based) can be out of touch with what is actually happening in the field. Bonuses are average, product pipeline is poor. No opportunities to develop within the company as not many senior roles available. Promotions are based on how long you've worked at the company, or whether you live in the right area, rarely on whether you are right for the job.

Cook is an employee focused, friendly privately owned company, I have generally been more than satisfied.
The good thingsCook has great staff benefits, top tier family private health insurance, monthly bonus for not taking sick leave, monthly share global profits, base salary is quite readonable.
The challengesProduct pipeline eratic, depends on which SBU you work in. Cook does not have many females in senior roles, no obvious gender equality. Flat structure makes career advancement challenging, those rewarded is seemingly longer length of employment.
