Pathetic self absorbed management, who are busy shoring up their own little empires. A deplorable company to work for.
The good thingsNothing good to see here, other than the team I work with.
The challengesManagement. Absolutely profit focussed. No concern for employees. Low hourly rate.

Will never work for this company again.
The good thingsThere really isn’t any good things besides some of the staff.
The challengesSeeing staff sitting around watching movies all shift or walking around the camp not doing what they are employed to do. Also hearing their RTO Baseline try and sell to clients that ERT who complete the Cert 3 in mines rescue are required to complete a log book totalling 400hrs of training is a myth, there is zero requirement for this log book.

Dysart QLD 47453 to 4 years in the role, former employee
A challenge to find silver linings, however, more room to improve everywhere.
The good thingsPeers are generally highly-skilled individuals with a wealth of experience. Team cohesion depends on direct Supervisor ability to lead by example.
The challengesEnormous turnover rate sees good personnel vanish due to poor pay and general conditions. Team Leaders (ERT) frequently fall into the trap of using CPA as a retirement job - disenchanting fresh personnel new to the industry and eager to learn and upskill. Systemically there is no support to training or direction from a corporation level, which is baffling considering there is an RTO sister company. Below the median average wage let alone if you’re in a dual-hat role. Communication from middle management can also be quiet to the point of deafening silence. CPA’s focus is SE QLD. If you are remote elsewhere - you’ll be left to your own devices. Operational Support is lacklustre.

    Woeful experience.
The good thingsNot much to speak well of, if anything at all.
The challengesSo many it's not funny. You're not valued at all once you sign the contract and get on site. Management are not professional, and are a complete joke who also refuse to reply to phone calls or emails if there are issues on site with the client or otherwise. The equipment provided is not up to scratch in many instances, especially vehicles. There is no staff development to speak of. They kowtow to the client, which means you'll end up doing trivial jobs and duties like misc admin duties, security, and the likes to appease the client so CPA can keep the contract. As a professional Paramedic, your skills and knowledge are never appreciated.

Disappointing after experiencing a promising start.
The good thingsEmergency Services team are great to work with
The challengesManagement have no interest in developing team relationships, discourage critical thinking and pressure staff to ensure you do not communicate with the client. There is no thought to training and maintaining operational effectiveness. If issues are raised they are ignored.

the worst workplace I’ve ever had the displeasure of working in.
The good thingsQuite frankly I have nothing good to say about CPA other than some of the guards I worked with where really great people but completely let down by the ridiculously under qualified management.
The challengesManagement at this company is ridiculous, the managers are completely under qualified and it shows in their lack of problem solving, working under pressure and decision making.

A great team in Health & Medical and plenty of options to expand ones career.
The good thingsGreat autonomy and employees working on the ground are literally the best around. Support staff are fantastic too! Management encourage diversity and innovation, they also offer internal training via their own RTO for all staff which is great incentive.
The challengesThere is a lack of incentive and recognition for those having worked with the company for some time although this seems to be changing.

The freedom and trust to do things your own way
The good thingsI have been given so many opportunities to develop skills and gain experience. Maintaining client and supplier relationships and receiving the freedom and trust to do things your own way.
The challengesAs someone with limited experience it was a hard task familiarising myself with the different aspects of this business, these things take time. But I was always supported by my coworkers and employers.
