Don’t do it . Go elsewhere. You deserve better
The good thingsI met some very nice people
The challengesPretentious and unrealistic. Unfortunately this company invests into the wrong things and is not what you would expect it to be and behind the scenes is very different to what the customer sees I can assure you.

Hands down the worst company I've ever worked for.
The good thingsThe job in theory is fine, retail and customer service role with a good variety of easy enough tasks.
The challengesToxic culture and work environment. Bad behaviour is tolerated and even protected. Management won't help. Those who say anything are likely to be removed or pushed out.

    Not great
The good thingsThe teams, the systems, the flexible ways of working (not the same across all brands though, some remain in 2010 despite covid teaching us remote work is possible in design).
The challengesManagement, greenwashing across all brands, career progression near impossible and based solely on clicks.

If you want work life balance this is not the Company for you.
The good thingsTeam in store! Great discount! Well respected brand!
The challengesManagement want you to speak up and then don’t listen. Salary reviews and incentives cancelled during Covid yet the company was having record breaking performance. Zero work life balance.

Beautiful store environment and supportive team
The good thingsBeautiful store environment and supportive teams. Staff discount across Witchery, MIMCO, DJ's etc a huge bonus.
The challengesProduct is expensive and work uniform allowance given every 3 months only large enough to cover part of an outfit. Big push for customer loyalty card sign ups.

    I wouldn't recommend working here.
    The good thingsGreat staff discounts
The challengesThe company have a lack of leadership and don't have a clearly defined strategic direction. David Jones and Country Road Group haven't integrated well at all levels. Morale is down across both businesses and they don't pay well.

A good job to have if you don't need steady income
The good thingsThe work is easy and not hard to learn.
The challengesIt was hard to get a full weeks shift with such a high turnover with casuals.

The good thingsIncentives like cheap clothes at cheap prices
The challengesNo opportunity for growth, the management and HR is not supportive. A lot of people on the management lack work ethics and professionalism.

Great work environment and culture as it embraces diversity.
The good thingsVery supportive team and management. Culture is really great. Processes are up to date and easy to accomplish. Reports are very transparent and straight forward.
The challengesLong hours and pay is relatively low for all the hard work that you do

CRG was great before the integration with DJ's. CRG shared services have been sold out.
The good thingsCRG was a fun, bright, place to work with genuine, hard working people. Sample sales were a highlight.
The challengesSystems were immature, lacking skilled people in some key roles.

Enjoyable but not sustainable given my personal life circumstances. Management not supportive or flexible.
The good thingsFantastic people, makes work enjoyable.
The challengesWork life balance I felt was not the best. Working in management you put in a number extra hours. If you have a family it is difficult to juggle life and work especially as a single parent of two.

Don’t get sucked into the brand names
The good thingsThe office, the brands, the people and the discounts.
The challengesThe internal politics, favouritism, structure that doesn’t make sense or add value and they mis-sell you the role so you’re effectively a data entry person instead of a qualified professional.

It can be real hit and miss working in the office, some days are GREAT and others not so much!
The good thingsThe discount across the group is great and your individual team.
The challengesWithin Head Office lots of hierarchy which is challenging when you are trying to implement changes within your Brand. The work life balance could be better, lots of expectation to be in the office with limited flexibility to work from home when needed.

Great as a casual or part-timer
The good thingsStaff Clothing allowance + discount (40% for permanent staff) -- special staff 50% off days or flash markdowns on products at $1,$2,$5 etc
The challengesLack of support from head office for regional stores. Always cutting back staff salaries, over worked in management because we are expected to pick up the slack but with no extra pay.

Country Road makes retail a good place to work (really)
The good thingsGreat team, great management and so many benefits!
The challengesDifficulties relate mostly to average retail problems, when it comes to tricky customers and working weekends etc.

    Good company to work for!
The good thingsGreat people, great atmosphere, plenty of support and room to grow!
The challengesSystem could do with an update (loading sale prices etc.) and staff discount could be a little better but aside from that not much to complain about.

Appreciate the opportunity to work for a big company, but little opportunities for growth and extremely poorly managed.
The good thingsThe company provided fair pay and environment was fun. The employees who work at CRG are the crux of the company and made coming to work worth it.
The challengesThe Human Resources team needs an overhaul. Little to no care for individuals and this is also shown via management. When seeking advice for internal issues, the HR team was appalling to deal with and made me feel not worthy of their time. During my 2.5 years, we saw 7 different managers, who were all poorly trained to handle their role.

Fun, well payed, lots of opportunities & diverse working environment.
The good thingsVouchers toward \"uniform\", discounts off all departments, friendly team, room for change and growth. CEO often visits to give a pay on the back.
The challengesRetail & dealing with customers is always challenging but often rewarding and fun. Keeping up with all the promotions for customers can be challenging - especially when they want to return something!

Great people at store level but don't look for a career here.
The good thingsStaff at a store level were brilliant, merchandise ok, staff discounts average. Great place to start if you're young as teens get the same pay as adults.
The challengesBeing required to continually wear current stock which isn't on rack for long & with only minimal clothing allowing & average staff discount, while management who aren't face to face with customers get massive clothing allowances. Upper management are heavy-handed & inflexible when dealing with staff internal issues but will bend over backwards to satisfy the rudest of customers. Staff & store incentives are impossible for all but the flagship stores.
