All Perth WALess than 1 year in the role, former employee
Overall is not worth the pay and stress.
The good thingsThe other staff and most store managers were lovely and really tried their best to make work as enjoyable as possible.
The challengesThe area managers and higher ups could not care less about the staff, shifts constantly change with only a few hours notice or you're told at 10pm the night before. All staff are in constant comparison and competition to reach unattainable targets, there is a small staff discount for clothes but no wardrobe until you have worked there for at least over 6 months, yet you are expected to be wearing their latest items on shift so majority is out of pocket.

A great fashion house with amazing team members and a really nice work experience overall.
The good thingsThe cluster in which I worked was so lovely and harmonious. The management were always available to communicate with and, as far as they were able to assist, were very accommodating of any requests or concerns. The staff discount was also a big plus!! Staff bonuses were also reasonably achievable.
The challengesMore stock and size range was always on my wish list!

I would warn a friend off working here
The good thingsThe only good thing is that lower level staff are all wonderful. Everyone works so hard and puts their all in. All my casual colleagues are lovely and so supportive.
The challengesEverything else is awful frankly. Management are toxic and pushy but worst of all incompetent. And lower level staff deal with the consequences. Rostering is chaos with constant changes and confusion. Expect to feel pressured to be available all the time and then receive very few shifts. Managers will call and message you outside of work hours about the most menial of things. The pressure to meet sales targets looms large but no practical help to meet them is ever provided. Training is patchy and disorganised. Nothing about working here is worth the base level retail money they pay.

Loved the workers, hated literally everything else.
The good thingsI loved my store manager and fellow retail workers, they were so lovely and willing to help with anything.
The challengescatty upper management and head office who really reinforced the completely unrealistic KPI goals to the point where it was miserable and anxiety-inducing. Always expected to work more hours than necessary and guilt-tripped if you are unable to do so.

Decided to risk being unemployed than continue working and not getting paid
The good thingsLearned good customer service skills
The challengesStaff were very toxic and the support from higher staff was appalling. It became draining coming to work and felt so much pressure to force sales. Am disappointed from this company’s cultures.

This was the first company who taught me to true meaning of what FASHION is, this is where I developed my passion for leadership and staff management. Loved my time here - highly recommend!!
The good thingsI became the Manager and Sales Leader I was due to this Company. The culture is intoxicating and you become part of the CUE family in no time. I honestly loved it so much that I went back 4 times!! It was always my safety net! Brilliant managers, amazing product to work with and outstanding Company Culture and love for fashion!
The challengesYou work really hard!! If you dont want to learn the ways of CUE and selling the CUE way - dont bother applying. Its something you need to embrace! They paid ok but felt they could go alittle higher.

I am happy with the choice I made coming here.
The good thingsWarm and welcoming environment, very friendly Lots of team members with many years of experience and have had veried roles. Lots to do and learn but not overloaded Close to Central Station for public transport
The challengesTeams are lean which increases work but also provides more opportunity to learn.

A family owned company that cares about its environmental impact and ethical approach that is always passionate in what they do.
The good thingsHave been working for the iconic Australian fashion brand for over 25 years, and I have only ever experienced positive attitudes in the business. I love the people I work with and have made many life long friendships along the way. When you have good work ethics and love the brand and your environment, there are very generous bonuses schemes in place for you.
The challengesIf your not willing to go above and beyond for your customers, If you feel retail is easy job and don't want to challenge yourself then this is not for you.

Cue, a thrilling fashion forward company to be apart of!!!
The good things- Amazingly talented stylist team - High performance based business - Goal oriented - Family owned since the 60’s (to which owners know their staff and have built this rapport and visit stores often to stay connected - AMAZING!!) - Passionate supportive management team - Beautiful clothing - CUE invest in their teams - Great onboarding experience - Ongoing training & upskilling - Career progression for those who are hungry for it!! - The amount of tenured staff within CUE, 10, 15, 20, 30++ years!! (Doesn’t that just say it all?!)
The challengesThere really are no cons/challenges as far as I’m concerned, any company you work for is exactly what you make of it. How much you put in is what you’re going to get out right? CUE truly goes above and beyond for those who put in. If you love fashion and styling, this business is for you, if you have drive and hunger to succeed, this business it for you, if you want growth and professional development, this business is for you, if you want to be surrounded by successful high achieving women, this business is for you. If you don’t - it’s quite simple… this company is not for you.

A massive fun learning environment. Everyday you learn something new with wonderful people and a positive atmosphere
The good thingsIt may come across as another retail job. However it’s actually a job where you learn ALOT such as correct customer service. Styling. Different body shapes and colour palates. And about fabric with a wonderful team
The challengesLearning different kinds of customers to help them in the correct way that suits them

Overall Cue made me very depressed during my time there, i do not recommend to work there. They over work you like animals is the best way to say it.
The good thingsAbsolutely nothing good to say about the company.
The challengesWorst management, pressure from the owners, never making enough money in their eyes, writing weekly reports of stuff and being in the red or green zone, management always changing and staff turn over is huge, didn't get support during covid, products do not sell themselves that's why they focus you to sell them to customers, "sell whatever size we have even if it doesn't fit them"

My staff discount saves me thousands and its nowhere near worth it
The good thingsThe discount and the clothes are great, and the customer service focus is great
The challengesUpper management is difficult, personal productivity cultivates toxicity and you are blamed for the failings of the company while they bury their heads in the sand

WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER WORKED FOR
The good thingsIs 50% discount on overpriced product a good thing? Is it really?
The challengesHours are allocated to your sales & achieving budgets. Sounds reasonable right. But when stores have NOT reached those budgets since before COVID, it is unrealistic to expect casuals to achieve the impossible. False promises, incompetent managers, no team environment. Trust me… your current HORRIBLE (they made me change the word) job is better than this hole! Destined for disappointment…

The challengesIt can be high pressure regarding sales targets, but working in the CBD hitting targets is usually very doable.

I never want to leave, my CUE family are amazing
The good thingsCue has been a wonderful place to work over the past three years. I have had the pleasure to work in many different stores across Brisbane and met amazing and supportive staff. CUE creates a community of women that support and encourage each other to be their best. It is inspiring to see all upper management are women managing to do it all and support an Iconic Australian brand with strong values and dedication to their loyal CUE customers. I have worked retail for a long time and never seen reginal managers and state managers be on the floor and talking with customers in such a hands on and positive way. The discount is great, and they allow you to express your own style through CUE clothes really nicely. Working for CUE makes you feel like you are in a family of amazing women from all ages and backgrounds. If you start as a casual or higher up there are plenty of opportunity to move into management roles, different stores or move interstate.
The challengesLike any high-end retail there are KPI’s, however store managers and other staff are super helpful in assisting you to manage these expectations and offer team building nights every month to discuss sales and strategies for the CUE customer. They care so much about you and their customers, so I never felt worried or stressed.

    I LOVE CUE
The good thingsCue is most 100% the best place I have ever worked. I have been the EA to the owners for 8 years. They treat me like family and have taught me so much in my time here. There is a huge amount of opportunity for growth within your role at Cue as they coach and mentor staff who are keen to succeed. I LOVE CUE
The challengesThere have not been any bad challenges whilst i have been working here although the job has been very challenging at times due to volume of work - I thrive when i am my busiest so this works in my favour.
