I was sold on the company on the basis that it was a well resourced and progressive organisation - what I found was totally the opposite and it remains the worst experience I have ever lived through
The good thingsLeaving the company - it was the best decision of my business life!!
The challengesGoing to work each morning, having to deal with unrealistic expectations and a lack of proper investment in products & services

Working here has had a negative impact to my personal brand with my customers - don’t make the same mistake.
The good thingsAnyone not in management are great people, they’re so understanding of the pain you go through on a daily basis.
The challengesToo many managers which creates an environment that is full of micro-management. Unrealistic targets (upwards of 25-30% YoY growth!) and if you make target one quarter and miss the next or miss your annual target, you have to pay it back. The compensation plan is the worst I’ve ever experienced in my professional sales career. The senior leadership team push so hard that often meetings are run out of standard office hours and you are expected to create 10-15 page decks on deals you want to pitch to a customer - whilst you being made to feel like a worthless individual in a public forum.

I really wish I hadn’t taken the contract.
The good thingsCan’t think of any to highlight
The challengesExtremely limited opportunity wise. You’re a robot with no room for creativity or thinking outside of the square.

Management by spreadsheet is a flawed business model!!!
The good thingsNil under the current owner. Only concerned with their own profit and distinct lack of regard for clients/staff.
The challengesToo many to list here so I shall only list a sample; Lack of concern for clients needs/requirements. Call center model being used and it is not an optimal approach in debt collection. Staff training non existent, staff morale low & toxic culture. Middle management have little or no skills/experience with managing people let along managing a formerly high performing team. Flawed data and decisions being made based upon flawed data and a distinct lack of checks being done prior to these \"roll outs.\" Management adds more pressure and higher KPI's with no additional support to the ground staff.

    Dishonest, brash and heartless
The good thingsNothing that comes to mind
The challengesThe greatest challenge is not losing your sense of right and wrong. There's a reason why it prides itself as being the government's chosen debt collector - they don't spare the homeless either. 'Star' collectors routinely coerced homeless and jobless youth to make payments. In my time there, I had older siblings and parents of rather young defaulters call up to renegotiate payments on their behalf, after these young ones had been coerced into promising or paying something unsustainable. They even let debt repayments be made with Credit Cards!

The good thingsAn equal oppurtunity employer, willing to give opportunity to those looking at career change.
The challengesTechnolgy of client and company systems in communicating with each other..often delayed in reflecting true information to utilise in customer contact and too often affected workers kpi and therefore effecting workers performance and ongoing opportunities to become better at what they do.

    An absolute roller coaster.
The good thingsThe people. My colleagues were fantastic. Some flexibility in the working day.
The challengesFalse investment in people, constant management and process changes within my department. Leadership essentially nil, opportunities given through no reasonable means, not via merit, but more based on who can do the work for the lowest salary and who knows who.
