For a large national firm it is a wonderful place to work with a strong culture of putting good people first and walking the talk when it comes to listening to employment survey feedback and implementing fantastic initiatives to make it a rewarding place to work.
The good thingsAmazing culture and team environment Great work life balance Amazing events and social calendar
The challengesAt times implementing change can be challenging as a number of team members have been around for many many years and can be resistant to changing things up or doing things differently but that is incrementally changing as the technology improves and new people join with new ideas.

The challengesManagement! (word used loosely) Untrustworthy, under qualified for their positions.

Don't think Ill ever choose to leave EBM
The good thingsHaving worked in more than 3 insurance companies - EBM is by far the best when it comes to how they treat their employees and clients. Definitely recommending EBM to anyone wishing to work in a genuinely friendly environment where everyone is treated equally and fairly.
    The challengesHonestly nothing at all!

    Managers encourage micro management systems
The good thingsGood system and nice support staff
The challengesSeniorManagement not trustworthy They are encouraging a toxic workplace by micro management . Demonstrated record of ongoing staff retrenchment over the last 5 years for any staff who object to the micro management.

Who starts a new job during a pandemic?!
The good thingsI commenced employment with EBM on 6 April 2020, when WA was in lockdown/under COVID restrictions. I had a PC couriered to my house and learned the job remotely for 2 months, and was blown away by both the staff member who trained me, and the systems in place to support such learning. When I joined the office in June, I received a warm welcome and have been made to feel part of a strong, close-knit team.
The challengesReturning to an office environment after working from home for 2 months was difficult, but obviously this would have been the case with any employer. I would love to see further WFH opportunities in the future. Otherwise, no real challenges, mostly a positive experience overall.

Good company culture and overall atmosphere
The good thingsGood company culture and atmosphere, staff are friendly and approachable. Organisation is currently in the midst of a large program of work involving Microsoft cloud technologies which makes for interesting project work.

Very disappointing to work for such a company. If you get in good with your manager you will succeed, if not your stuck in the same role. Only look after their favorites.
The good thingsUnfortunately no good things to say
The challengesLack of management and career growth. Low salary income for the work load. This is a call centre job even though they make it out not to be. Your required to deal with 35+ phone calls on a daily basis. Lack of training
