I feel the job fit for me is pretty great, would love to have regular or permanent hours and am applying for roles within Edith Cowan as they come up.
The good thingsThe feeling that everyone will support you, not just my department. Everyone is outgoing and friendly with real focus on supporting students and each other.
The challengesJust in my experience as a casual, months without any work.

Lovely place to work if you get into the right team.
The good thingsPeople love working here and are very happy to share their knowledge. The Joondalup campus is beautiful. Work your own hours.
The challengesWorking from home is not encouraged. High turnover in some areas. Lack of competence in some senior leadership teams in non-academic roles.

Excellent work life balance, poor culture
The good thingsLocation, flexibility and work life balance
The challengesECU management do not live up to their values; ECU of today values “Yes men” rather than anyone with integrity and an opinion.

Brilliant, a lovely place to work if you can afford to stay there
The good thingsWork life balance is great, no one breathing down your neck results in a generally relaxed working environment however is not good when you are trying to achieve rapid results. The grounds are wonderful and the people are great.
The challengesThe pay is terrible, I would have stayed if it wasn't for the terribly low rates of pay which is in the order of 1/3 less than market rates.

The good thingsThe pay is above industry standard
The challengesManagement. Don't have expectations they will crushed by personal agendas, and not in the same way you experience in private sector

It could be so great. I wish it was! Structures and processes need to catch up to ensure a positive productive work environment. A lot of good people though doing a lot of good things. I still think it’s a great university but a lot of staff pushed to the
The good thingsGood conditions and super, nice people who care in support services, some rude personalities in academic staff who do not live the values (e.g. respect) or follow basic email etiquette, which overshadows all the positive experiences working with the good ones.
The challengesDifferent working conditions depending on the school or service centre you work in, some very unequal resourcing and structure for communications staff and decentralised model creates a lot of time wasting and headaches
