ESA and the people I met there are a valued part of my professional experience. The good thingsThe best thing, of course, was the people. They were intelligent, dedicated, interesting and sociable – and lots of them are still friends. We also had interesting and worthwhile projects to work on, and a very supportive environment with middle management.
The challengesLike most organisations, there was a lot of pressure at times to meet deadlines and budget constraints. New management saw restructuring and redundancies, and projects were less well resourced.
