Lots to do, but the staff and the residents are what makes the job great. People are important.
The good thingsFantastic staff and residents, you couldn’t meet nicer people
The challengesA lot to do manage and keep on track of.

"Argo Fork Yourself - it's not my problem anymore"
The good thingsI enjoyed the weekly ‘Mutual Admiration Hour’ on Microsoft Teams — always upbeat, with enough emojis and affirmations to power a small wellness retreat, though the enthusiasm often outpaced any actual direction.
The challengesThe biggest challenge was navigating a culture where enthusiasm substituted for structure. Induction was sporadic and dependent on whoever had a spare moment, leaving new staff to operate in a sink‑or‑swim environment. Communication was positive but often vague, and performance expectations shifted without warning or documentation. Feedback relied heavily on informal narratives rather than transparent processes, making it difficult to understand how decisions were being made. As someone who prefers to observe before joining in, I found that quiet professionalism was sometimes misinterpreted as disengagement. Ultimately, the lack of clear direction, consistent support, or fair performance review processes created an environment where it was difficult to succeed, regardless of effort.

Do not work for this company unless you are prepared to be completely undervalued
The good thingsSome excellent colleagues doing their very best for residents.
The challengesWorkload is unacceptable, I would call it modern slavery. Total disorganisation. Communication is terrible. Accountability is non existent.

Terrible place to work to get ahead financially. Can also really feel the budget cuts on equipment.
The good thingsMet lovely residents and some staff members.
The challenges- Meeting workloads with unrealistic timelines. - Duties also involves food services along with PCW floor work with no extra pay due to heavy times but also shortages on staff ratios. - Not valued - Very Clicky as problems occur as I am not one of them. - overtime paid is optional. Long time to process when pushed for to happen.

A supportive workplace with growth opportunities, through workload and communication, can improve.

The challengesWorkload can be high at times, and communication can be improved.

The team culture was like accidentally walking into a nature documentary ‘Wolves in Pink Cardigans'
The good thingsOn the surface, interactions were warm, friendly, and supportive — the kind of smiles that photograph beautifully. Beneath that, however, ran a quieter current of whispered alliances, selective storytelling, and a level of behind‑the‑scenes plotting that would impress even seasoned dramatists. The real highlight was discovering how much influence a single colleague’s version of events can have. It’s rare to see a workplace where storytelling is valued more highly than evidence.
The challengesTransparency, communication, and professional conduct, need significant improvement. Clear instead of absent processes would help ensure that decisions are based on evidence rather than personal alliances or private conversations. Support roles should be filled by individuals who demonstrate honesty, consistency, and professionalism, rather than those who rely on selective storytelling or influence. The psychological impact of being undermined by a colleague and dismissed on the basis of misinformation was significant — and entirely avoidable in a workplace committed to fairness. Leadership would benefit from ensuring that staff are treated with fairness rather than outcomes being decided by social loyalties. For anyone thinking of working at Estia, I encourage you to look closely at the interpersonal dynamics before making a decision. Not everyone here is as friendly as they appear. Some of the warmest smiles belong to those who do their sharpest work once you've left the room.

The good thingsSome of the staff were supportive
The challengesThe management are atrocious. They only speak to each other and laugh and joke about. They see employees and subordinates and only speak to you to reprimand. I was here on work experience. Very isolating experience indeed

No respect, no flexibility and dissatisfaction through every department
The good thingsThere's isnt much positive to say about it. They dont care about staff. They do not listen to suggestions for improvement. They look at cutting costs wherever possible, and they need to start with their corporate team. Constantly pushing their model if care which is asking for trouble. Kitchen hands responsible for cooking breakfast unqualified because they want to save money and not hire additional staff.
The challengesEverything very from poor communication, to they dont care about their staff, they have antiquated systems and wont take on feedback and suggestions for improvement. Uniforms are horrible. Always looked cutting costs put more workload on their staff without additional renumeration. Very backwards thinking company.

The good thingsInteracting with people who are genuine.
The challengesManagement's lack of clear direction and overuse of corporate jargon. Emphasis is on KPI's and little focus on person-centred care. Lack of acknowledgement for jobs well done. Micro-management. Poor induction - you either sink or learn how to swim yourself

Estia Health the best Workplace to ever work
The good thingsManagement is just too good, and the staff are caring; they always want to see their staff grow, they aren't too bossy, they are just like a normal team member, they like it when you ask a question, and don't pick extra shifts than mentioned in your contract.
The challengesSometimes the facility gets severely short-staffed due to mass sick calls on the same shift, and management ends up getting agency AINs, which doesn't decrease the standard of care but does require extra direction and could possibly affect time management.
Estia HealthThank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re delighted to hear that you feel supported by management and valued as part of our team. We also appreciate you highlighting the challenges around occasional short‑staffing. We understand the impact this can have on team workflow, and we’re continually working on ways to strengthen staffing consistency and support our teams during those times.

I have gained valuable experience working in a fast-paced aged care environment at Estia Health, where I provided high-quality cleaning and food services while supporting the comfort, dignity, and wellbeing of residents.
The good thingsThe strong sense of community and compassion that underpins everything we do. The team is genuinely committed to providing high-quality, person-centered care, and that creates a very supportive and rewarding environment
The challengesWorking around residents’ needs and preferences — sometimes it requires a lot of patience and flexibility, especially when residents are unwell or have dementia.
Estia HealthThank you for sharing your experience and for the important role you play in supporting our residents. We’re so pleased to hear that you’ve found a strong sense of community and compassion at Estia Health. Your dedication to maintaining residents’ comfort and dignity is truly appreciated. Worst place to work. Unsafe conditions, no equipment and lack of care to residents.Worst place to work, very unsafe conditions for both residents and staff. Zero senior clinical support and the place is run by admin people who feed management with lies. No clinical judgement is valid when addresing risks to residents and raise concerns to management. They would not support you clinically at all and management focus is far away from looking after residents.

The good thingsThere’s nothing positive about this place. It’s run by care staff, and nurses are completely undervalued. I won’t be returning. The pay is $10 less than what other companies offer, yet the work expectations are double."
The challengesWorked over 90 hours per fortnight, days and nights. Always tried to support management during staff shortages, but ended up feeling betrayed. There's constant micromanagement in a toxic environment, and nurses are treated like they're disposable. Suspension of nurses is a regular occurrence here.
