Good entry position and stepping stone.
The good thingsIt’s a good place to get your foot in the door in the accounting industry. They hire many people during the tax season. Flexible roster and lots of food treats during the tax season.
The challengesNo career progression. Walk in there knowing that it’s only for a season. Use the experience gained as a stepping stone towards getting a full time job.the work can get repetitive and busy so you might not learn too much aside from the basics. The KPIs make it highly competitive which is personally not a favourable environment for me to work in.

    Okay place to start
The good thingsGood place to start your career to learning about individual tax (to a very limited extent) and customer service (as they will most likely put you to the frontline to answer their phone or handle online chat with clients). Small reward for your achieving their KPI. Diversity is good as many people are from different background. Good opportunity to handle some tricky cases as an online company you do get anything so you see things that other accountants may have never seen.
The challengesWorking environment is terrible, as the ringing of the phone in the background was so loud that even the client couldn't hear you. Management doesn't have much integrity, as apparently they are under pressure to generate revenue, or perhaps even driven by bonus-based remuneration, some jobs are pushed through without proper checking. Definitely regarded one of the high-risk tax agents by the ATO.

Terrible experience , I am happy the graduate program was only 2 months.
The good thingsNothing positive as their clients get furious as they think this company is an outsourced business and most clients confuse them for ATO's online tax and team leaders usually don't help when someone is having a tough time dealing with clients on phone.
The challengesToo high expectations from fresh graduates. Managers and team leaders ignore the questions asked by graduates while they are working. Team leaders themselves lack tax knowledge for special visa holders and they blame the team members if anything goes wrong. They are very friendly during training time and harsh during peak time. There is no way to gain tax knowledge as mostly they can't answer case-specific questions.

Good learning experience for customer service but cannot learn too much tax knowledge there.
The good thingsdeveloped the ability to dealing with customer
The challengescustomer complaints, the system in Etax decides every customer has to go through different accountant to brief their situation, sometimes we have to take the blame for previous accountant's mistakes.

    Awesome
The good thingsVery supportive management and team members. You can ask as much questions as you like and keep growing. Every return is different and you get to learn a lot about taxes and you get to interact with a lot of people. Indirectly, you also learn about a lot of different stuff about people’s job and they’re really interesting.
The challengesThe only challenge is cranky clients. Some clients can be very upset when they get a payable with the ATO but you can always calm them down by explaining to them how they ended up with a payable and try to give them options. It’s not that much of a challenge really.
