    Staff retention is a real issue but it is for a reason. Poor system, lacks modernity. Very toxic workplace for me in the end. Staff are not disciplined for poor behavior.
    The good thingsTalking with other travelling customers, enriching customer experience and the challenege of sales.
    The challengesExtremely poor staff retention. We cycled through 3-4 managers in the span of two months. Staff leave when in training, because of the lack of support. The system is really old and looks like coding. Really time consuming and hard to manage. Poor customer service is not corrected or disciplined. I was targeted, isolated and treated poorly by my supervisor in the end which essentially caused me to resign.

    The challengesGetting rid of lazy and poor performing staff. Being able to put more staff on to train prior to getting busy. The complex and outdated computer system that can make take up to a month for staff to learn with no one around to train them or you. The work expected from you to be completed in an 8 hour day is impossible and they won’t pay you any extra for any extra hours trying to get on top of it. They make out like you will get bonuses but technically you won’t receive anything unless you have been there for more then 2 years. Ask any of the other station managers there. Will over load you with cars so your utilisation rate excludes you from bonuses. Won’t listen to input about diversifying the market to add civil spec and mine site spec even know that is what is required for the region and will have other Europcar franchise locations profiting at your loss in your area. I could go on!

    Having only worked here for a short time I can confidently say that I've made the right choice. The team are great and Management are super down to Earth.
    The good thingsI find the work environment to be extremely welcoming. No clique-y behaviour and everyone is super friendly and respectful. The team are welcoming and supportive and the work itself is interesting and rewarding.

    Hardwork, consistant, stable, exciting work with a good company culture all year round.
    The good thingsI started at Europcar in Brisbane City over 6 years ago, I have throughly enjoyed my time working with this company. It is a busy work envirionment which I enjoy, but what has kept with this company is the positive cultrue of staff and managment, everyone is ready to help each other at all times. The company provides good training and has a very generous reward system as far as incentives go.
    The challengesI alreay worked in the travel industry prior in Hotel Reception, so the tranision wasn't that difficult for me, the main challange was learning about all the different cars but that turned out to be actually fun.

    The good thingsGreat team environment, I am well supported by Senior Management and my peers. Europcar have always looked after my family and I. I have had fantastic opportunities to progress in my career, having moved from the UK as an Area Manager to NZ as National Operations Manager.
    The challengesSometimes I find that as a business we need to improve our technology in order to compete with our large international businesses but that isn't to say that it overly impacts on my role.

    Fun because of who I worked with and horrible because of who I worked for.
    The good thingsStaff at a store level are incredibly enjoyable to work with. No matter how overworked and understaffed we were, I enjoyed every minute with them.
    The challengesUpper management doesn't care about staff. Very little assistance when we needed it and an instant scalding if you made an honest mistake, despite the fact that the system is antiquated and you get exactly zero training. Salary is also abysmal.

    The challengesEveryday was a challenge with Europcar.. Like the Titanic its a long slow experience that everyone knows will eventually sink. 4 state managers in 3 years.. upper and middle management is a total joke.

    The good thingsGreat work environment. The team made me super comfortable and they are very easy to get a long with. Great variety of things to do on a day to day basis and get to go out and about so you're not stuck in the office all day. I would of stayed if I wasn't moving states !

    The challengesConstant heavy work loads during peak season, 1 person to clean all returning vehicles, take calls, front of office, plus attending other issues. constant kpi stress, upper management do not value you regardless of how many years of working there. Constantly defending yourself from customer claims or poor service, even though when fleet was over booked or lack of it.
