    Don't do it.
The good thingsProviding fun & engaging experiences with the children, regular meetings with other service coordinators.
The challengesDespite what is sold to people, single staffing happens *a lot* at Extend. Management started off supportive, but it stopped. They care more about profit than providing adequately for the children and the care of the wellbeing of their staff is non-existent below head office.

Working at Extend Australia (VIC) has been a career highlight
The good thingsWorked at Extend for approximately 2 years and it was the absolute highlight of my career, staff, educators, managers, admin and HR all incredibly friendly, helpful, and great to work with, working with primary school aged kids (typically 6-12 years old ) can be one of the very best jobs you could ever ask for, lots of fun memories looking after the kids and going out on excursions for Vacation Care!
The challengesFinding things to do in the 6+ hours between before and after school care shifts can get a bit tricky, i found volunteering to be a great option for myself, you could also try to pursue paid employment as a tutor, childcare, or education support? If you are still studying an education related degree ( or anything really) then you have 6+ hours of study time every day!
