A massive company that feels like a small one. Family owned business that looks after their workers!
The good thingsGreat company who hire people based on how they contribute to the culture of the work environment. Upper management are great and most staff are lovely. Lots of perks and great work-life balance! Fantastic place to work.
The challengesThere's not much room to grow within certain departments/business units.

If you are happy with admin work, & can work alone as well as in a team & hybrid work, it’s for you
The good thingsGood pay (depending on your role) hybrid work, very accommodating to needs
The challengesManagement constantly changes, with every change they try and implement new changes within the role. Expectations are always changing

    Avoid at all costs!
The good thingsNot much, The location
The challengesEverything, zero check ins, zero training, set you up for failure, unless you meet the mould the team manager wants then you won’t be successful. No regard for staff or their customers just make the KPI and push the worker back. Nitpicking by management! No management around to ask questions!

Please stay away from this company at all cost or you'll make a huge mistake.
The good thingsLiterally nothing, I can't think of a single good thing about this company.
The challengesEverything. They treat you like a number, zero check ins, zero career improvement, and you'll end up leaving after a while

Underpaid and pressured to perform tasks with minimal training; a frustrating experience overall.
The good thingsI really did not enjoy anything about the place
The challengesManagement should prioritise valuing human resources, recognising their contributions as essential rather than viewing them as disposable or irrelevant. A more supportive approach to employees will foster a positive work environment and enhance overall productivity.

BURNT OUT and no regard for the wellbeing of staff - care more about their customers than staff!
The good thingsHybrid working arrangements were good There was some valuable experience gained Overtime offered
The challengesWhere to start: No regard for their staff High staff turn over More of a call centre Strict KPIs Micromanaging Burn out and lots of it No work/life/balance No rewards for hard work Constant nitpicking from management If you miss a call or you are off queue you will be questioned They question you why things were not done when they call you into meetings every 30 seconds

    Started good. Became Hell
The good thingsFriendships within my team. My last direct manager was amazing. She worked so hard to keep it all running.
The challengesMassively mismanaged. Squeezing out experienced staff for cheaper AI. Nepotism is rife. Senior manager forced us to hire their daughter for 6 months before she left for planned gap year trip. Management all have family work their and protect them even when they're clearly in violation of policy.

Go in with eyes wide open - Caution.
The good thingsThe staff are amazing. Friendly and seems to care about their staff. Lots of changes has caused a change in culture and division amongst staff and teams.
The challengesWork load, lack of addressing the issue. You can get burnt out. Having no HR on site makes it difficult if you need advice or assistance. You are having to ring someone in Brisbane Office that you do not know and has no idea what is happening on the ground in the Adelaide Office - removed from local staff.

The work load and expectations from management isn’t healthy, they should focus on looking after the staff they have rather than working them so hard they burn out. On multiple occasions myself or other team members had voiced our concerns to management and hr after voicing concerns we would be micromanaged. Not an environment I’d recommend if you value your mental health.

Great for people who want to make a foundation in claims but who also don't mind waiting for a chance to move up the corporate ladder.
The good thingsThe flexibility to work from home almost every day, and attend the office once a fortnight. Depending on the team, sometimes it can be quite an easy role, with little overloading.
The challengesLack of any guarantee in career progression. You might be stuck in a lower role for a year or more before any recognition or chance to move up even to the next role above yours. Lack of movemement in teams where there is no turnover, people are static and stay in the same position for a long time not allowing those below to have a chance to progress. Micromanaging is the elephant in the room and sometimes it feels like you are being constantly monitored or watched, without any clear understanding as to why - you have to sometimes make a lot of assumptions as to why colleagues are behaving in a certain way towards you as well as management.

    Disappointing
The good thingsThe people that you work with make work tolerable. You will find yourself staying there longer than you thought cause you don’t want to let the people around you drown.
The challengesLack of foresight, inconsistent management. You may find yourself pigeon holed into a role. Make sure you are clear about your entitlements before you start including any annual leave loading or long service leave

Great but overworked staff, absent clicky management, great workplace if your liked
The good thingsI worked at GB for 3 years and the best part of the experience was the culture between floor staff. The biggest reasoning for my staying at GB for 3 years was due to fear of joining a team that would not be as friendly and supportive of one another
The challengesThe biggest challenge throughout the years was dealing with an absent management team. A lot of the issues of the floor staff were being overworked with no management to assist. Prior to resigning from GB it was noticed that the Charter also was only expected to be followed by floor staff however Management were exempt from this, often failing to hold themselves accountable to their own actions.

    TOXIC SHOCK
The good thingsLike most people mentioned... their last day. Absolutely nothing good about this place or the people.
The challengesA very clicky and toxic management team. No support unless you are in the 'it crowd'. High turnover of staff... there is a reason for this.
