Overall this is a wonderful place to work. The people are a highlight, making every day a fun and focused environment to spend the working week.
The good thingsFantastic culture, encouraging leadership team who are open to new ideas and innovation. Teaching staff are very passionate, pastoral care for students is a high priority. Supportive and enjoyable school to work in.
The challengesEducation and parents expectations are growing, however leadership support their teams in managing this.

An often brutal and cruel place to work, all under the guise of Christian values.
The good thingsThe students are great. You'll get a lot from working with them.
The challengesIf you’re after a harsh work environment for poor pay, zero transparency in decision making from upper management, regular malevolence from your fellow staff, along with a leadership team that never steps in to support those who need help, look no further. Do yourself a favour and consider other options. After a few years you’ll be considering alternatives anyway.

If you want an agile, collaborative work environment - this is not the school for you.
The good thingsSome of the teachers are excellent.
The challengesThe culture at Grace devolved into a very toxic place. Senior leadership offer any clear direction and see the teachers role as getting "bums on seats". Senior leadership do not support staff wellbeing or deal well with issues, they are left to fester. In regards to teaching and learning, there is no drive for innovation or new pedagogy. A number of staff refuse to accept changes and remain to get to retirement. Some very toxic personalities. Good education and practice is not the objective of this learning institution.

If this is how they treat their staff, how are they treating their students?
The good thingsMost of the staff members I worked with are nice.
The challengesSo many: No direction. The school used to have a great leadership team with a Principal that knew what she was doing. Not any more; Not a nice working culture that comes from the top; Not valued for your hard work and contribution; Treated unfairly and poorly by select staff members; Too much work for too little pay are a few of the challenges.

I loved the people I worked with, but the job left a bad taste.
The good thingsThe department I worked in had a great sense of community and camaraderie.
The challengesMinimal remuneration for a significant amont of work. The senior leadership team were vague and noncommital in almost every situation. The Principal seemed content to hide away and let the Campus Coordinator deal with the running of the school. Zero accountability or discipline for poorly behaving students.

A good school to teach at.
The good thingsSense of community among colleagues. A structured and supportive working environment. Management consult with staff on a range of issues.
The challengesAs a big school can feel departmentalised. 2 campuses means that communication can sometimes be problematic but everyone is very aware of that and most are proactive in avoiding communication problems.
