One of the main issues was the low number of working hours. Despite the demanding nature of the job, the hours provided were often insufficient, which affected my overall earnings and job stability. Another significant challenge was the constant reassignment to different clinics. every day, I was sent to a new clinic with a different atmosphere and setup. This lack of consistency made it hard to establish a routine and build rapport with patients and staff. It was particularly challenging
The good thingsI had the pleasure of working for QML Pathology in Australia as a phlebotomist, and I must say, it was an incredibly organized and efficient company. The level of organization within QML Pathology was truly impressive. For instance, the scheduling system was meticulously managed, ensuring that each day ran smoothly and without any unnecessary delays. The staff was always well-informed about their daily tasks and patient appointments, which significantly reduced wait times and improved patient satisfaction. Moreover, QML Pathology placed a strong emphasis on training and development. New hires were provided with comprehensive training programs that covered both technical skills and customer service. This ensured that all phlebotomists were not only proficient in their roles but also capable of providing a high level of care and support to patients. The company also maintained high standards of cleanliness and safety. Every procedure was carried out with strict adherence to hygiene protocols, which is crucial in a medical setting. This attention to detail not only protected the patients but also provided a safe working environment for the staff.
The challengesWhile working for QML Pathology as a phlebotomist, I faced some significant challenges, particularly in managing the workload. Most of the time, I was working alone in a very busy clinic, which left me with little to no time for breaks or lunch. This was a particularly big challenge that took a toll on my well-being. For example, when I was working in the Banyo suburb in Queensland, the clinic was consistently busy, and the patient flow was constant. Handling such a high volume of patients on my own was exhausting. The demand often meant that I had to skip breaks and work through lunch just to keep up. After a few months of this intense workload, I found myself feeling extremely exhausted. It was a tough situation because, despite my dedication and effort to provide the best care possible, the lack of support and the overwhelming workload made it very challenging to maintain my energy and focus.
