Look elsewhere, it's not worth the angst
The good thingsFriendships with some lovely people. Work-life balance
The challengesPay is woeful. Salary increases in EBA inadequate. Nepotism, micro-managing and jobs for mates is rife. Brown nose and you'll go a long way. If not, you can guarantee you will be overlooked, ignored and made uncomfortable until you leave.

Ruined working in healthcare for me. There is no support for staff members, they care more about their stats and reaching quotas.
The good thingsNothing, literally nothing. Did not get trained, manager more concerned about reaching their stats each month rather than taking into accound the staff members wellbeing. NO OHS measures put into place as well. I had inquired about that.
The challengesManagement! Terrible management, they expect staff to go above and beyond but fail to ensure their staff are taken cared of.

They preach about caring for staff and do the exact opposite.
The good thingsI worked with some great people.
The challengesWhat a disgraceful employer. The management team rely on fear and intimidation to hide their own embedded incompetency. Staff are too afraid to speak up for fear of repercussions. Staff are made to feel guilty about the state of the budget, whilst management relentlessly blow tax payers money.

SA Pathology is a horrible place to work.
The good thingsUnfortunately, I did not find anything good about SA Pathology. I had a negative experience overall.
The challengesConstantly understaffed. They want their employees to learn everything about the job so that they can make them work as hard as possible. No opportunities are provided for younger people. Many old people are sitting there for 30 years doing nothing, just because they are experienced.

    Bureaucratic, make-work monstrosity.
    The good thingsNone. Absolutely nothing.
The challengesWorking with long-time, entrenched staff with little insight into their own behaviour and how they present to others. Contemptuous attitude towards policymakers and constituents that all aspects of public health are beyond criticism because anyone could require healthcare at some point in their lives. "White Ribbon" workplace where respect and consideration are entirely one-way streets.

the company is always improving and making changes, it is a reward job, but has it challenges, sometimes it just about being that ear for someone as well as doing your job. I wouldn't change it for the world.
The good thingsi love working for SA path the manger has got better over the time i have been here and they are very understanding there is always work and chance to work at different site and do different hours which makes it flexible
The challengesit is always busy no matter what site you're at you will not always have people who are happy to be there, and you have people who have gone through some hard challenges and sometimes all they want is a person to listen.

The new management of 2023 is a big joke
The good thingsThe previous management is better than the current one
The challengesThe new management of 2023 is the worse management ever. Toxic environment, everyone talks behind everyone's back. No profesionalism whatsoever. Do not waste your time and life working for them.

Great at times but no job security, management have no business sense.
The good thingsThe people who you work with are really great, the pay is good.
The challengesManagement have no idea how to run a business. Too many contracts developed a transient workforce with no stability. Don’t get on a contract as you will be on it forever with no job security.

The good thingsPeople you work with but like any work place you'll find good people so this isn't that much of a positive
The challengesPoor management. Zero career progression or development opportunities in the administrative stream. Complete and utter waste of time. Knowledge gets you nowhere, you're actually better off being useless. Seems to pay more
