Only work here if it is your only option.
    The good thingsflexible working arrangments
The challengesHollard is an embarrassment. The company has a lack of direction and is always in constant change that makes it near impossible to do your job. Any movement forward is met with 3 steps backward. Managment and Human Resourses hold no leadership qualities or basic human empathy. They claim to promote diversity and inclusion but it is all just lip service. They do not care for people who have work place experience, who work hard for the company and will just happily kick them aside and make them 'redundant' after endless 'restructures'. Only work here if it is your only option.

The good thingsWorking from home was really great
The challengesBeing screamed at everyday by customers, being told to not tell the whole truth, just didn't sit right with me. KPI's mean more than proper training or valuing workers.

Go elsewhere if seeking an environment that genuinely values contribution and fosters collaboration.
The good thingsThe Good. The company has strong brand recognition in the insurance sector and attracts talented individuals who are genuinely passionate about delivering quality outcomes for customers. The experience reinforced what matters most: leadership integrity and cultural health are critical to organisational success.
The challengesStrategic direction shifts frequently without clear communication, leaving teams to navigate ambiguity with limited guidance. Decision-making is opaque with little consistency in priorities from quarter to quarter. A consistent pattern exists where ideas and solutions developed by frontline teams are presented up the chain without acknowledgment. Innovative approaches conceived by working-level staff are regularly communicated by senior leadership as their own strategic initiatives. The workplace atmosphere is corrosive rather than collaborative, with politics prioritizing optics over outcomes. Psychological safety is largely absent—people hesitate to speak candidly or challenge flawed assumptions for fear of career repercussions. The gap between espoused values and actual behaviors is substantial. Career progression appears relationship-dependent rather than merit-based. High performers lacking executive sponsorship plateau, while those excelling at visibility over delivery advance.

From onboarding to operation, the support is well provided.
The good thingsThe team, onboard support and management.
The challengesA little more flexibility with workforce, but that is the only negative challenge I’ve faced so far.

Relly Bad will cause health issues , holding up bonuses and pay is too low for the kind of works delegated
The good thingsInitially ok but when merged with CBA all things got bad
The challengesNo support, Toxic place to work. process always changed in a daily basis. Lower crews are just used as escape goat by managers. does not adhere to what they preach towards customers

Horrible place. ……. Horrible place. Management is mean, and you are taken into a meeting after a sick day and asked how you will make sure it doesn’t happen again. I had a day off because my dog died and she still asked me how I plan for this not to happen again. They made us work extra hours for no pay and gave us a sandwich. They hired me for an inbound role then forced me into an outbound team cold calling. Worst place I have ever worked.

This was most challenging and stressful job of my lifeMy experience working at this company has been extremely disappointing due to its toxic culture, poor leadership, and lack of strategic direction. The management team is dismissive and plays favourites with certain incompetent employees, creating a hostile environment filled with gossip and mistrust. They often make decisions without a clear plan or vision, leading to confusion and frustration among staff. Overall, the combination of toxic workplace habits, ineffective leadership, and a lack of strategic focus has left morale low and the organization directionless. I wouldn’t recommend working here if you’re looking for a healthy or well-managed workplace. I and many others learned to lower my expectations & standards, and to shut my mouth to remain employed.

Not recommended for human consumption. There is a distinct lack of strategy, foresight and integrity at the leadership level. This flows down into every part of the operation. Customer Operations are chaotic and creates a toxic culture that pits people against each other with a distinct tribal “us and them” mentality. This detracts from your ability to actually help customers. I have seen on more than one occasion managers taking credit for other people’s work. There is a district lack of urgency and intentionality about addressing any of the issues raised, which indicates that this toxic culture is by design. To sum it up the place is Horrific. Don't do it to yourself.

Interesting company that needs better technology
The good thingsHybrid but they literally dont care if you come in on anchor days! Great flexibility to pick up kids from day care & do shopping, tradies etc
The challengesUnfortunately all levels of management including supporting risk and compliance functions do not deep insurance experience and make avoidable errors. Hard to get things done quickly as no real buy in because of the overall lack of expertise and systems.

The good thingsI have no words to express my gratitude to Hollard. I genuinely liked everything about the company the team, the flexibility, the working hours, the pay, the systems everything felt efficient and easy to adapt to.
The challengesThe only area that could use improvement is the preparation of information, having unified data and enhancing the training process.

    Extremely toxic, avoid!
The good thingsNothing, the most toxic place I’ve ever experienced
The challengesExtremely toxic environment with no work-life balance. Leadership is weak and lacks knowledge in the areas they manage. They constantly shift responsibilities and blame team members to appease other departments. Resistant to change and dismissive of suggestions, the culture is steeped in flattery and favoritism. Leaders take credit for their subordinates' work. Overall, it’s an exhausting and nightmarish experience working here. There's zero recognition for your efforts, and turnover is incredibly high.

    Thankful it is over!
The good thingsThe IT setup was seamless, it all went downhill from there.
The challengesCulture is toxic. Management is too busy putting out fires caused by leadership that have no idea how their businesses is run. Leadership is non-existent. Don't expect any support, and anything that you do (if you can get anything done due to the red tape and bureaucracy) then it won't be good enough. It's fast becoming a dumping ground for all of the staff that couldn't make it at another (unnamed) rival insurer... I am surprised this company still has customers and is solvent.

Systems outdated and management don't know enough about the roles they are supposed to be supporting.
The good thingsCannot think of any good things about the company
The challengesNot enough claims staff - complicated outdated systems, e.g. to make a simple payment you had to complete 3 databases which took about 20 minutes!

Rapid growth and new opportunities for development with the acquisition of one of the big 4 bank's insurance arm.
The good thingsThe company is open to feedback and change. Coming from an established company, I wanted to implement things that worked with the previous company in areas of opportunity. It may have taken a while for the stakeholders to buy into the idea but the constant communication and willingness to try something new enabled the idea to be implemented.
The challengesThere is an offshore partner that you would work side by side and have to adjust as they are in a different time zone if you needed to communicate face to face.
