Ideal Workplace — If You Enjoy Stress as a Hobby
The good thingsstaff food and colleague
The challengesThe workplace had ongoing management challenges and was often short‑staffed, which made it difficult to meet expectations. Many systems, including POS and other software, were outdated and added unnecessary pressure on the team. In addition, some managers tended to focus more on pleasing upper management rather than resolving issues or supporting their staff. This often left team members feeling unsupported, and accountability was not handled fairly. Unfortunately, this led to high turnover, especially in F&B management roles, where many people struggled to stay longer than six months. Overall, it was not a constructive environment to work in, and the experience was far more stressful than positive.

Poor Management Issues Affect Work Environment
The good thingsSupportive and friendly colleagues who make the job more enjoyable.
The challengesSome managers demonstrate unprofessional behavior and poor communication, which affects staff morale. At times, employees are not treated with the respect they deserve, making the work environment difficult. More accountability and leadership training would improve workplace culture.

A great place to start a career, especially for a tourism and hospitality professional.
The good thingsTeam building, team development, great HR team, supportive. Lots of fun events, communication is great, diverse team.
The challengesNo challenges. Other than some team conflict which was dealt with by HR accordingly. The annual reviews were a joke also at the time I worked there.

good start to get into the hospitality / tourism industry, but terrible for a long term career.
The good thingsfree staff breakfast some days
The challengesoverall upper management repeatedly neglect to fix a multitude of issues within the company (resulting in recurring guest issues), and continually put making maximum profit above staff wellbeing or guest happiness.

All Housekeeping jobs are the same, however if you have good management, the work and equipment will be good quality.
The good thingsGood management equals stock available, working equipment and high quality chemicals.
The challengesAs with any Housekeeping job, it's physically demanding. Not enough time allocated to clean and service the room. The pandemic has changed Housekeeping in general.

No day is boring. There is always something going on and you are always busy.
The good thingsAll the people we work with are amazing. Travel benefits. Meals provided.
The challengesThe workload, your daily job is doing enough work for 2 full time workers. Guests can be rude. No work life balance, not enough time off. Hard to get leave for important life events. Working in excess of 7 days in a row without a day off. Always too busy, Never enough staff.

A good experience overall and I made good friends from working here but would avoid the QLD branches of this company from now on.
The good thingsYour team is usually filled with great people and you'll probably enjoy working here for the first 6 months, plus you get to stay for cheap at the properties in Aust and NZ
The challengesUpper management in QLD are all buddies with one another after working together for a while, so if you get on one of their bad sides you can forget advancing within the company. There are also a lot of petty politics and squabbling between them that trickles down to everyone and they don't really listen when a whole team has a legitimate complaint.

Not worth the terrible wage to deal with higher management.
The good thingsDuty Managers and GSAs were fantastic humans to work with. Higher management were rude, disrespectful, and degrading.
The challengesThe role was not difficult, but it was definitely a challenge working for people who don't care about their staff. Also the fact that they call themselves a \"4-star\" Hotel, then having to deal with the complaints from guests after looking at their 2-star accommodation.

Wouldn’t recommend working here, unless you need the experience.
The good thingsWorked with some really nice people.
The challengesManagement wasn’t great. How well you went didn’t depend on how well you worked. Was on whether management liked you. Some team leaders weren’t good were lazy and not professional.

Horrible and wouldnt go back and feel sorry for the staff there and future staff
The good thingsA few nice people to work with
The challengesManagement is poor from team leaders to higher authority (some) slacking off they let negative behaviour linger for months prior to doing anything and don't offer support or condolences. understaffed and when you can't work they cut your following shifts as a way to take advantage of you many people have left in the last 2 years due to lack of respect and not undertanding balance of work and life and chucking trainees in the deep end and getting down there throat when they dont know what to do as there is little to no training as no one has time
