I love my work but dislike the management and segregation of centres/clinics
The good thingsThe clinicians and fellow reception staff are fantastic to work with, very passionate and genuine people who have the care of patients front and centre
The challengesCommunication regarding changes and management who actually listen and then try to make change for the better not just because

In my opnion the best of private radiology.
The good thingsI've always felt supported by my team and manager. Have always been given oppurtunities to expand and succeed.
The challengesIt's a much larger company than when I started, and things sometimes get lost with that.

I do enjoy my job, and the people I work with. However, higher management need to sort out issues.
The good thingsThe people I work with are all amazing. The patients are pretty good too. I like how no two days are the same.
The challengesBeing constantly short staffed is a huge issue. It can be mentally and emotionally exhausting. We're made to do so much more work than some of the other smaller clinics, yet are paid the same. Management need to sort out more cover relief staff because all they are doing now is taking people from other clinics and leaving them short. This doesn't fix the issue and can make work very difficult. Also the ongoing EAP saga is annoying. No one will ever agree on the conditions which means our pay rates don't go up as they should each year.

Honestly I couldn't recommend to work at i-med more.
The good thingsThe staff are genuinely lovely and supportive. The workplace is understanding and positive about mental health. I enjoy the fast-paced environment because it keeps me engaged and motivated.
The challengesI would love to have more snack platters. I know there's always snacks in the cupboards. But when they go all out they really do.

Every employee should be treated with respect, IMED has no concept of respect.
The good thingsGetting paid and finishing work everyday.
The challengesThe entire business model needs to be examined. Management treats staff appalling and degrade anyone lower than a manager role.

There are some amazing people stuck in the company, but the world outside the walls is much greener.
The good thingsMost colleagues made it easier to turn up each day, and repeat patients following through their journey can be a special thing, but that's not unique to I-MED. The past incarnations of the company prior to "the huddle" when they felt genuinely community focussed and patient first was what I try to remember of my time.
The challengesManagement are an absolute disaster. Never have I come across a leadership team with some members so far removed from what a healthcare business should aspire to be. Did not feel valued or recognised, and that is not a unique feeling.

Ask yourself why there is such a high turnover of staff.
The good thingsBeing the friendly face that the patients loved.
The challengesWhere do I start. Pay is terrible. High turnover of reception staff. Management, Managers support managers. I have never been treated so terribly or horrible in my 30 years of working. They say they protect the whistle-blower, but they dont.

Was once a okay company, years or corporate greed have ruined it.
The good thingsWork colleagues, that’s about it
The challengesUpper management choose to understaff clinics. Questioned when you take sick leave to the point we are stressed to call in sick. If you want to work somewhere you are allowed to take your tea breaks, this is not the place. Annual leave? Too understaffed to cover. GPs replacing radiologists in clinics, this is a sinking ship. Latest move has been to bring in notorious union buster lawyers to battle with union over eba negotiations. Workers have been on industrial action for over a year now, imed have been stonewalling the union. Yearly staff engagement surveys are ignored by the company. Daily roster changes due to understaffing means you cannot plan your personal life and no option to say no to late shift changes even same day.

Disregard for support and safety in various areas. High opportunity for burnout. Opportunities to advance due to private funding and staff turnover.
The good thingsOpportunities for advanced procedure training. Resources provided via I-Med Australia in regard to CPD.
The challengesDisregard for support and safety. Inappropriate staff to patient ratios, numbers over people involving restructuring and investments based on selected targets over actual representation of frontline scenarios placing excessive pressure on staff and middle managers.

stay away, as a receptionist, youre better off stocking shelfs for same pay and no stress
The good thingssome great people, like anywhere
The challengeshorrible, horrible- take this as a warning...they (recruitment) will pressure you into coming on board, with little information. Once youre in, you have to do contact centre agent, medical receptionist on terrible, below average wages. Mangement is terrible! Dont dare stick up for urself!

Too many supervisors and not enough workers
The good thingsIt once was a great workplace
The challengesManagement. Far too many managers for the minimal amount of staff in each category. People brought in who had no idea but to get rid of staff who had been with the company for years.

Work for this company if you want to know how livestock feel at an abattoir.
The good thingsThe staff in the clinics who do the front-line work are some of the best in the business.
The challengesManagement within the company is appalling. They constantly restructure the middle management team, resulting in the only consistency being how inconsistent management is. The company only cares about money and has no regard for the staff doing the work that brings it in.

The good thingsGreat people, supportive management, many career opportunities, excellent work-life balance.
The challengesHigh staff turnover which is common to places like Darwin. But this leads to opportunities for career advancement. Working for corporate medical giants can be mixed experience depending on team and location, Darwin is a great team!

    KPI ridiculous, made good friends.
The good thingsMaking friends, being able to work at home 3 times a week.
The challengesThe KPI little ridiculous compared to other call centres I have worked at. Doesn’t make sense. I feel they exist for the sake of existing and just make you constantly second guess yourself and make you feel like not so good even if you know you do a good job. Even one of the 2ic see said they were so ridiculous that they hated doing them.

The good thingsPoor salary paid regularly like clockwork.
The challengesInexperienced, self-serving management. None have any idea what the employees do so have unattainable expectations. No rewards for exemplary work performance. You can be a slacker and get just as much attention from management as top tier workers obtain.
