Business great. Management & staff toxic.
The good thingsThe customers were lovely and I enjoyed the work.
The challengesStaff are not cohesive and its a very toxic work environmentfrom management down. The way staff interact is totally unacceptable and its such a shame because the business itself is great.

Drove profit growth, managed all operations, and led staff to deliver top-tier customer service
The good things"The best parts were seeing tangible results from my leadership: I successfully implemented profit and growth strategies that significantly improved the café’s overall performance, and I built a highly motivated team known for delivering excellent customer satisfaction and high-quality product standards."
The challenges"My biggest challenges involved complex inventory management and quality control across high-volume periods, as well as navigating staff scheduling and training to ensure we maintained service consistency while reducing operational waste."

    Zero respect for employees
The good thingsCustomers are nice and often the inly good thing about my shift
The challengesTreated terribly and humiliated by management then never given shifts again. There is a severely negative environment created by management and and inner circle that made me, as an employee, feel unwanted and worthless. Complete lack of basic respect and professionalism.

    Great experience
The good thingsManagement were amazing, they look after their staff and give opportunities for external training and progression. They care about maintaining a clean and safe workplace, high standards of meals/beverages and overall customer satisfaction. I personally worked for JB Livingston and they are hands down the best employers I've had to date, and I've been around hospitality for a long long time.
The challengesI have nothing negative to say, I just wish my time wasn't cut short but covid affected business for many, i left with great support from both my employers and HR at foodco.

Eye opening experience that allows for self reflect and growth.
The good thingsThe opportunity to learn about yourself by putting yourself out there, whether communicating with your employees or during customer service. Finding it not difficult at all to build relationships with customers. The environment within the workplace is friendly and supportive. Lastly the chance to grow and push your work ethic.
The challengesDue to the cafe being so popular, challenges were having to multitask during rush hours. Communication is key and having to be loud and clear to ensure tasks were done.

The challengesThe rush of working at a hospital site could get extremely stressful and overwhelming.

Overall, a good first job and taught me a lot of customer service skills.
The good things-Good talking to customers -Always something to do -A lot of complements
The challenges-When it gets really busy (coffee & food gets sent late, dishes start getting piled up, under staffed) -I would usually get very long hours (8-5 normally)

    A challenge.
The good thingsYou can make very good friends with the good customers, over an extended period of time.
The challengesThe complete inexperience at which head office appears to be running its cafes - tailoring promos to young people when only old people go to cafes, and splurging on useless items while the necessary equipment is pared back to almost nothing.

    18+ need not apply.
The good thingsThe customers are the highlight, uniforms provided and all shifts are uploaded to dedicated staff app. The food and coffee are amazing as to be expected. Perfect for anyone still living at home and doesn't have any bills to pay.
The challengesYou might as well live on centrelink. The shifts don't allow time for planning around work. Management have a knack for saving on wages, overworked staff and terrible roster arrangement. Beware of superiors asking you to do an open or close. Allow 1 day between shifts and find out that things have changed as you will find out when they grill you for not knowing, and then repeat process for weeks.

Do not recommend, if you are to work here, make sure you have a good employer who actually cares about you. Really makes a difference!
The good thingsBuilt friendships and relationships with the regular customers.
The challengesThe management, work balance, keeping on top of things as it was understaffed, stock was constantly running out as employer was not organised nor was made to be a leader.

I found the manager extremely difficult to work with and left the job very quickly due to this.
The good thingsCommunicating with customers and learning about coffee.
The challengesThe manager/franchisee is very difficult to work for, excepting perfection and for you to automatically know everything in your field even as a new member to the team.
