Docklands VIC 30083 to 4 years in the role, former employee
Toxic workplace with favoritism, gossip, and poor management.
The good thingsMade some lovely friends
The challengesBe aware that the workplace culture in the admissions team at Kangan can be extremely challenging. Management lacks transparency, promotions often seem based on personal connections, and gossip and cliques are common. Team morale is frequently low, and collaboration can be difficult. If you value a supportive, fair, and professional environment, this may not be the right place for you.

The challengesOld fashioned work environment Toxic work culture no one is interested in progression or improving service delivery Too much admin doing things old fashion way Leadership have no clue to what workplaces are like in 2025. Work units work in silos No respect to staff no coffee or tea or even sugar for staff in tearoom Sadly staff accepting poor work conditions and mistreatment

The good thingsGreat pay and the work environment was reasonable with some working peer relationships.
The challengesManagement. I thought I could make positive change but management will ensure the status quo remains so they can keep their own perks.

Disappointing, as I thought I could make a change. Difference of opinions are not encouraged by management. Collaboration is one of the values but this is not evident in the culture of the organisation.
The good thingsDedicated teachers who are passionate about education and supporting people to gain a qualification.
The challengesUpper management pretend to listen but its all about the money not the student experience or the expertise of the teachers and industry feedback is not taken on board.

    Good organisation to work for
The good thingsThe staff that work in my department are great to work with, knowledgeable and a good bunch of people.
The challengesSome of the senior managers are unapproachable and very set in their ways, not being open to suggestions or contributions from their teams. A little too autocratic. Sometimes direction was non existent or confusing to actually execute as the goal posts kept changing without collaboration or explanation.
