A life-destroying work place with a churn and burn attitude toward staff.
The good thingsClose to public transport.
The challengesI experienced a very toxic culture, a lack of collaboration, a lot of in-fighting and micro-management. It was a joyless workplace with zero work life balance. My colleagues were in poor health mentally and physically; as compared to similar schools I’ve worked at, this place was the most stressful

Please don’t work at Knox Grammar School - it’s an awful place.
The good thingsPlease go work anywhere else but Knox Grammar School. They only care about looking good and making money. It’s the most awful place.
The challengesI can’t stress enough that Knox Grammar School is a place where manipulators and liars get celebrated and promoted. They don’t care about their employees one bit.

My time teaching at the WPS campus of Knox has been fulfilling and rewarding.
The good thingsThe culture of the school encourages work life balance, concerns are taken seriously and as an employee I felt supported, the professional development is relevant and I always felt highly valued during my time at WPS. The staff are very inclusive and friendly.
The challengesWorking at an independant school is always challenging due to high expectations. Ensuring you keep communication channels open with parents and management is crucial.

Awesome school, with incredible opportunities for both staff and pupils, combined with leadership who genuine care for both staff and pupils.
The good thingsAwesome place to work surrounded by great people. A working environment that genuinely cares for employees and pupils. Leadership, under Headmaster Scott James, who is genuine and authentic, and relentlessly looks for innovative ways to support both pupil and staff well-being. A PDHPE department that contains numerous highly qualified and experienced teachers, who are constantly searching for ways to scaffold support that extends above and beyond for all pupils of all abilities. Highly professional school, with outstanding resources, provision and facilities that cater for the needs of all pupils. Extensive co-curricular and sporting opportunities for both pupils and staff to engage in throughout the academic year.
The challengesLarge school, with an extensive campus, that can be difficult to navigate at times.

They promote people who are not great at their job. Deplorable facilities for staff, offices without air conditioning, not enough toilets etc. But the school does ‘look’ great.
The good thingsThe boys are lovely to teach
The challengesNot enough classrooms, marking timeline demands, cocurricular expectations, mentor role additional to load is ridiculous.

The school is too big and there are 'too many chefs in teh kitchen'. They can't control it. Issues across the board from management, to classes, to staffing model. Would recomment everyone looks elsewhere.
    The good thingsWorld class facilities.
The challengesManagement that is out of its league. THe glossy stuff on paper looks great but they can't practice what they preach.

Stop early days but loving the professionalism and dedication to helping staff be at their best so that students excel.
The good thingsGreat commitment to growth and development. As a large school there’s lots of scope to try new things.
The challengesThe school grew quickly so processes have lagged a bit, but I can see that being worked on.

Unskilled and unqualified HR Department, 1980's style management with a theme of micromanagement.
The good thingsFree morning tea, however scrapped due to budget constraints.
The challengesA culture of micro-management, repressing creativity, and restorative practices. Lack of discipline or school-wide classroom management systems.

Education and collegiality at its best.
The good thingsKnox is an incredible place to work. The students, staff and parents form a wonderful community. I feel valued and have the utmost respect for leadership, who do all that they can to secure the best outcomes for students and staff. I am offered extensive support and opportunities for development. I genuinely enjoy every day working at Knox and could not recommend the school more highly.
The challengesAny challenges are met and overcome collaboratively.

The good thingsFree morning tea, close to station
The challengesThe difficulties are created due to the enormous size of this school, the number of inexperienced middle management and arrogance of the brand.
