What a great place to work!
The good thingsA great workplace with amazing people and positive culture. There are plenty of opportunities to learn, grow and develop your career, and hard work is recognised. You are supported by colleagues and leaders and you feel valued and part of a team.
The challengesCannot think of any areas that need improving

Great company, very professional and inclusive culture
The good thingsThe interview process was very well structured, very positive and I was kept in the loop throughout. I had 2 alternative offers but chose La Trobe as I got the best feeling during the process and engagement.
The challengesOnly 1 week into the role all my experiences have been positive
Thank you for your thoughtful feedbackWe’re pleased to hear you had such a positive experience during the recruitment process and that your first week has been equally encouraging. We appreciate you choosing La Trobe Financial and look forward to supporting you as you settle into the role.

    Avoid at all costs.
The good thingsResigning from the role.
The challengesIndividuals with little to no experience have been elevated into leadership roles. Incredibly manual processing and outdated system. Terrible ergonomics within the office. A lot of favoritism and arbitrary decision making. If you want to work for a firm that is stuck in the 80s then this place will be for you.

Don't work here unless you are desperate for a job!
The good things- Nice office - Perks such as birthday leave. - Decent pay for the job role.
The challenges- No career progression or opportunity to further skills - Leadership team and managers act purely on favoritism - Lack of Recognition: Failure to acknowledge or reward employees' hard work and accomplishments makes staff feel undervalued and disengaged. - Praising or expecting employees to work excessively long hours - Poor physical work environment (42 inch TV's at every desk that were used as computer "monitors" because the CEO thought they looked cool to office visitors - who cares about the health and wellbeing of the employees?)

Great people, great location, and genuine work flexibility
The good thingsThe people here make work enjoyable, everyone is approachable, collaborative, and easy to get along with. The building is in a great location with excellent amenities, and the flexible working arrangements, including birthday leave, are great. It’s a place where people are trusted, supported, and encouraged to thrive. The overall culture is inclusive and energising.
The challengesNo major negatives to call out, any small challenges are part of the usual day-to-day and handled well.
Thank you for sharing such wonderful feedbackWe’re delighted to hear you enjoy the collaborative culture, flexible work arrangements, and the supportive environment we strive to create. It’s great to know these initiatives are making a positive impact.

Absolutely love it here! Everything from the people, the culture, the location, I feel really lucky!
The good thingsThe people, the culture, and the work I do.
The challengesI have to think long and hard about this one, I mean I'm still fairly new so I'm yet to be exposed to all aspects of the company, but maybe the office space, sometimes the floor can feel a little tight at times.
Really appreciate you sharing this! It’s great to hear you’re enjoying the team, culture, and your role. Thanks also for pointing out the office space — feedback like this helps us keep improving.

    Poor leadership and work culture
The good thingsGood location to train station, a lot of nice restaurants around, fancy building outside look, flexible working hours and hybrid working arrangements, parental leave, bday leave, purchased leave
The challengesLeadership team purely act on their favoritism, undervalue self-motivated and people who are willing to thrive and work extra miles. There is no consistency, transparency and fairness for pay review. Gender pay gap and large pay gap exist within same level of role. The more capability you have, the more they will force you to do, while others can have more pay rise with minimal workload only because they are personally close with the management. The issues are across multiple departments and become more common in this whole place. The culture of this company has absolutely changed over the years and now turned into a place that good people all leave, super high turnover staff rate says a lot. If you are okay with all those, you can join.

Toxic culture, high staff turnover, look elsewhere unless you really need a job
The good thingsNone as the company has completely lost its' culture, while chasing profit at any cost. A good place to get some experience and then look for a better employer.
The challengesVery high staff turnover, toxic environment with no real direction. Employees elevated to management positions with little or no prior experience, however "yes people" are likely to do okay. Poor to average pay and a micro management mentality now prevails. Senior managers seem to have little or no experience outside the company.

Don’t work here! They hire people too quickly without proper due diligence. As long as you’re friends with senior management you’ll get away with everything. No system in place for support when there’s high volumes. Philosophy is simply ‘get it done’ and always expected to operate like robots at all times. An American working culture in an Australian company located in Australia. 0 focus on work life balance.
The good thingsThe office is nice, there’s some snacks around

Avoid. Toxic culture with no flexibility and outdated ways of thinking.
The good thingsBuilding was beautiful, great view and location
The challengesAn extremely toxic environment with no flexibility in working arrangements. Old fashioned ways of thinking and working with values that have not grown with the size and needs of the company. A small HR department with no formal training which has a total lack of confidentiality and professionalism. Very large turnover of staff. CEO and Exec team all expect and encourage long working hours. No diversity in Exec team.

The good thingsThe people in the team that I worked in, were great.
The challengesConstant management restructures and a lack of progression opportunities. You are expected to work overtime regularly to maintain service levels for no extra pay and attend meetings outside of working hours. Too many office politics.
