    A rewarding first job where I learned valuable aged care skills, worked with supportive staff.
    The good thingsI enjoyed building connections with the residents and helping them in their daily lives. Seeing them happy made my work meaningful. I also appreciated working with supportive and friendly staff.
    The challengesstaff coordination and management issues. At times, communication between team members was not clear, which made shifts more stressful and less organized. Improving leadership, better communication, and clearer task allocation could create a more positive and efficient working environment.

    Residents good, management bad
    The good thingsAmazing facility! The residents are lovely and the people I worked with during my time there were friendly and helpful.
    The challengesAs described in a previous review, the slow erosion of trust between management and myself was the reason I left. Job ad said PPT 4 days a week and I was given 2 days a week. Alot of empty promises. I was left out of team meetings. Constant rotation of new employees. In my time there multiple people in different roles had resigned. When resigning I gave 2 weeks and a final date of work via email. The next day I was told not to come back at all. GM would say "my door is always open" but she would never be in her office. GM and EA would take lengthy time off and leave workloads for others. In my interview they said they "hire very quickly" and now I know why. I had high hopes for Lynden but unfortunately I felt very replacable there. I felt like I was just a number. I will miss the bus trips and bingo with residents but I will not miss the empty promises and ego driven management.

    The challengesThe usual issue in this industry. Staff conflict. some disgruntled staff cause problems and complains without coming up with any solutions.

    Overall, Lynden Aged Care is a fantastic place to work: supportive management, a great team culture, and residents who make every day special.
    The good thingsWorking at Lynden Aged Care has been such a rewarding and enjoyable experience. Management communicates very well with staff. Between memos and regular staff meetings held every two months, we’re always kept informed and up to date. The workplace culture is supportive and welcoming, which makes coming to work a pleasure. I really appreciate the massage chair and vending machine that management have set up for us in the staff room – thoughtful touches that make a big difference in our day. The residents are truly the highlight of my job. They bring so much joy and make the workday fun and meaningful. On Aged Care Employee Day, management went above and beyond with cupcakes, chocolates, balloons, and lots of pizza! It was such a thoughtful celebration, and I went home very full and very grateful.
    The challengesAt this stage I have not found any as I really enjoy working at the place.

    I'm enjoying my time working at Lynden Aged Care and will continue to work here for a long time , the residents are happy, management is fair, most of the staff (nurses, lifestyle, FSA, cleaners) are great, some staff are just lazy- they want an easy job, being a PCA is not easy it take dedication, passion and respect.
    The good thingsI have been here for over a year, I find the staff are great with the residents, they take the time to listen and learn what the residents want. Management is fair and understanding. Residents and family members seem happy really like the home. The lifestyle team work hard to provide a great variety of activities that the residents seem to really enjoy.
    The challengesStaffing can be an issues however that is not something new for the industry. Staff call in sick, have family issues etc., this shouldn't be a reflection of the management of the home. Its not prefect but i challenge anyone to find a prefect work place.
