Do not work here if you value your sanity…
The good thingsMost staff are kind and look after one another, some really lovely students
The challengesI have worked at several schools throughout my teaching career, and unfortunately this has been the most challenging and emotionally draining environment I have ever experienced. The overall culture felt toxic and unsupportive, and it took a genuine toll on my wellbeing. Leadership, in particular, lacked compassion and effective communication. Instead of approaching struggling staff with empathy or support, the default response often felt like criticism or reprimand. There were moments where it was clear a staff member was overwhelmed or in need of understanding, yet the reaction was rarely one of care. The focus seemed to be on exerting authority rather than building a healthy, collaborative workplace. This experience was disheartening, especially in a profession where support, respect and strong leadership are vital. I hope the school reviews its practices and culture, because the staff and students deserve an environment built on trust, empathy and professionalism.

The challengesToxic culture. Leadership at this school are horrendous. Absolutely not what is advertised and staged online. AVOID!

A progressive, inclusive, and community-focused College. I absolutely love coming to work every day!
The good thingsLeadership and staff genuinely care about each other and the students they support. The challenges of balancing family life and work are well understood and supported through flexible work arrangements.
The challengesLike any education environment, there are periods where you are super busy, but the staff are all incredibly supportive of each other and pitch in together whenever they are able. I feel that my hard work is recognised and appreciated.

Avoid avoid avoid! Toxic, exploitative, damaging and soulless.
The good thingsThe students are generally lovely and enthusiastic.
The challengesLeadership stripped away everything that made the school special. The lack of care and consideration for employees is abhorrent. It's taken a long time to recover from the experience of working in this place and it's devastating to see what happens to passionate staff trying to make a difference.

An inspiring, supportive and exceptional workplace!
The good thingsA beautiful place to work with a real sense of community. The leadership team is progressive, experienced, and highly engaged. It’s inspiring to work in a place where leadership genuinely listens, supports, and values staff input.
The challengesNone. I thoroughly enjoy my workplace.

20 years in teaching, and have never had mental health problems until now.
The good thingsDespite the toxic administration, the staff remains united, supporting each other through the constant stress and uncertainty. They lean on one another for strength, sharing resources, advice, and encouragement in a bid to keep morale up, even as leadership continues to undermine their efforts.
The challengesThis school is plagued by toxic leadership with a "right to hire and fire" mentality where there is constant fear and insecurity among the staff. This authoritarian approach has a profoundly negative impact on morale, as teachers and LSOs are left feeling expendable and unsupported. Decisions are made arbitrarily, often without regard for the well-being of the staff, leading to a culture of mistrust and burnout.

Used to be good, now run by a team who care more about image and student enrolments than staff retention and morale.

    Summarised in one word: bad
The good thingsSome friendly staff, but few and far between
The challengesManagement team is not interested in supporting staff, especially male staff. They frequently take the word of students over that of teachers

I am a CRT and it actually hurts when I have finished my work and don't know when I'll be back.
The good thingsWonderful resources, respectful students who seem to want to be there and very dedicated teachers and staff who are willing to help you and share resources.
The challengesThe school expects a lot of its students and even more of its teachers. This seems to place a lot of stress on some teachers.
