A once great company that supported the health industry in this country that is unlikely to see the success it once had in Australia.
The good thingsThe customers, the people you work with and your immediate managers.
The challengesUpper management are unable to make the right decisions due to being limited by the leaders and owners of the company. These restrictions are put in place by leaders who don't understand the market in Australia. MedicalDirector is a victim of previous success made 20 years ago that the leaders think is still relevant now. MedicalDirector ignored a main competitor for over 10 years which has slowly caused the company to price itself more and more each year out of the Australia market.

So much potential but management inept
The good thingsAlways getting my breaks, starting and finishing on time
The challengesLocal management team is inexperienced and immature, and those in Sydney are out of touch with staff in regional office. Minimal investment in people, process and the products is hampering growth. Staff that go above and beyond are not appreciated and their efforts are taken for granted.

A happy place to work, but you can grow tired of just \"happy place\" to work in.
The good thingsThe workplace has a very young, upbeat, positive and cheerful environment. The products are immensely useful, have great potential and make a significant impact in the healthcare industry.
The challengesManagement can't or won't keep up with the sensibilities of the healthcare industry while making key decisions regarding product features, enhancements and business process. The healthcare industry is far behind in technology (atleast a decade) when it comes down to using software and IT. What they need is a software that makes the existing process easier and quicker, they don't really care about \"state of the art\" tech. My entire time with MD I have tried to get the point across multiple times, but it always fell on deaf ears. It scares me to think that most of the management have no experience in the healthcare industry before this and they are genuinely not interested in knowing how their decisions are negatively impacting their own clients.

Assess the people who interview you very carefullly ask lots of questions !
The good thingsSome great people, no cash flow issues.
The challengesManagement has no clue what they are doing. They are arrogant and ignorant and micromanage. The hire endless consultants and keep changing direction because they have no clue about healthcare. Staff morale is low , turnover is high. Was promised a commission scheme and it never happened.

    Real life Office Space
The good thingsNew open plan office is nice. Free toast if you start early. Pool table and table tennis table. There are some smart friendly people. Great potential in its new product helix and awesome history in the company. Market leader in Australia.
The challengesHigh aspirations but a management team that cannot execute. No product direction and little understanding of the customer. The approach to change management is get on the bus or get off, which is not a good strategy when you lack direction and destination. It's time to review management and decide who is delivering and useful, and cull the poor performers. I truly believe the company can be special in about 2 years if the right decisions are made now.

Great experience so far, loving the new office!
The good thingsAmazing new office! My first was the office opening which made for a brilliant first day, a lot to live up to! The open plan office is awesome with lots of meeting spaces to catch up with people and a general nice vibe in the office (with great music). Working hours are flexible which is great for to for family balance. Its in a great location in central, loads of good places to eat and easy to get to. So far my MedicalDirector experience has been really good, I'm really enjoying my new role and team and I'm in week 3!
The challengesStill waiting on my new laptop...
