    A rewarding and valuable experience.
The good thingsGreat global brand, prioritises patients ahead of profits, forward thinking, continuous improvement mindset, good professional self development opportunities, approachable senior management, make employees feel valued in what they do.
The challengesA little tight on salary levels. Sometimes demanding on my personal life. Some disconnect between teams causing misaligned priorities.

Medtronic is one of my favorite companies to have the privilege of being part of. It is rare to find a role, environment, management that are all agreeable as well as get a sense of purpose from the experience. In return, I strive to represent the company well.
The good thingsBeing a medical company, I feel that employee health is included in its priorities e.g., in allowing flexible work hours and locations given that deliverables are met.
The challengesFor my role, we are rarely informed of the career progression opportunities available for us within the company. As a bilingual, I would have loved to acquire training and both linguistic and industry exposure in Tokyo to maximize performance levels.

    Learnt things hard way
The good thingsVast range of products, brand name
The challengesExtremely poor work culture, work overload, too little staff and too much work, lack of coordination among teams, pathetic management, interference by senior staff in everything, politics in promotions and growth; poor work life balance due to work pressure requiring you to work beyond normal hours every days and weekends. can go on and on

Not the best choice or experience of my working career.
The good thingsMany opportunities to excel and grow (if you are well liked by upper management)
The challengesthe culture. Perhaps not company but def internal teams seem to be a lot more coherent than actually are. Seems to be great on outside but a different view once in. Very political and those with a little bit of impact can manipulate the system to make it seem what it isn’t.

Enjoyed working for Medtronic. Good balance between new product innovation, market knowledge and relationships. Good people. Need to innovate in operations, marketing and bench mark against competition in ANZ market.
The good thingsGood balance of opportunities, culture, flexibility and philanthropy The size of the company allows for innovative thinking e.g. The CEO's push to think value based healthcare - payment for outcomes as opposed to payment for procedures. Great career development for Sales people.
The challengesPurely Sales oriented at this stage - which is good for current focus and to \"bring in the bacon\". Not so good when there are challenges in funding in the current climate.

Good as a stepping stone to other roles and other companies
The good thingsLooks good on resume, company is run very chaotic so can be opportunity to move up as there is little structure
The challengesNo forward or long term planning, everything is planned for on quarterly basis and last minute. Projects are picked up, dropped

High ‘I’ in some management styles leads to ‘working blind’ and selective non-inclusion results in challenges when customer facing with product
The good thingsAcknowledging expertise. Great training.
The challengesPoor acknowledgement or thanks. Cronyism.

Decent company, don't trust your contract duration though
The good thingsCareer progression opportunities for those who put the effort in (held 3 positions over 3 years)
The challengesWill keep staff on contracts as long as possible to avoid paying benefits. Contract durations frequently cut short too, don't rely on numbers provided.

Leadership and management of Covidien part of the business was dreadful.
The good thingsGood initial training course
The challengesThe legacy Covidien business had the culture of used car salesmen. My territory was geographically unique therefore it wasn't possible to hit the weekly KPIs. The management refused to work with me to compromise
