Toxic Culture, Zero Support – Proceed with Caution
The good thingsThere was nothing good.
The challenges This was one of the most demoralizing work environments I’ve experienced. There was no meaningful training or support, yet unrealistic expectations were placed on performance from day one. Asking questions was met with frustration or silence, not guidance. The culture was far from collaborative—it was isolating, critical, and dismissive. Confidence and morale were quickly eroded, and the lack of leadership accountability made it worse. The only consistent message was: sink or swim. Mental health support was available, but it felt like a band-aid for a workplace that actively contributed to stress and burnout. If you value professional growth, respect, and a healthy work environment, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Just Don't. Move onto the next job advertised.
The good thingsBranch staff were great to work with. Hours of work suited me.
The challengesLess than half the staff needed to run the branch correctly. Constantly apologising to customers as their jobs were rarely completed on time. Typical USA Corporate greed at its worst. Bus loads of managers at head office. Executive GM appointed GM underneath him, probably to make his coffee! Branch staff run off their feet and exhausted.

    Don't go near this company
The good thingsMotion Provides a staff discount at various stores.
The challengesManagement are only focused on weekly profits, work is often overwhelming and It is most certainly not a team environment, the branch is under-resourced, has a disorganised inventory and out dated technology, making a store-person role a nightmare. They will preach about teamwork and inclusiveness when in actuality it is quite the opposite. There are better places to work, Don't waste your time.

Overpromise and underdeliver. Out of touch management
The good thingsDecent pay. Nice coworkers.
The challengesManagement is completely unorganised, resulting in a high pressure environment of blame and putting out fires. The work is decent however there are significant challenges in getting overwhelmed with work and getting pushed too far by upper management. My role has had significant turnover and I was not surprised when I had gotten used to the job. I would not recommend working here, it is a constant theme of overpromise and underdeliver. The staff who do the work, deliver too little, as there are not enough of them.

Though management is still draconian , i still had a relatively good time while working there. The pressure IS huge , their expectations ARE huge so be prepared to work very hard and get paid little for your effort if you work at branch level
The good thingsWorking on the counter with the customers and problem solving was just fantastic.
The challengesManagement. The management team still live in the 50s and 60s . I thought as a society we had moved on from that draconian way of thinking . MMMMMM NO I left the job on good terms. Ive applied for casual jobs in all their companies , no go, I am well over 60 , you work that out.

I like the work, i enjoy exceeding targets on a consistent basis to give the customers the value they deserve. I feel that employees at lower levels are completely ignored.
The good thingsThe positive part of the job is taking personal satisfaction from exceeding company/management expectations.
The challengesThe challenges are many. Not least of which is the fact that a solid work ethic, consistent effort, and providing value and results over many years still doesn't hold you in good stead with the management at any level. Putting in "over and above" effort seems to reap less rewards and opportunity than "minimum acceptable" effort. The lack of any employee reviews (in a decade i have not had one single review) makes it extremely hard to state your case and removes any possibilities for negotiating better opportunities or conditions.

Over Promise and Under-Deliver should be the Motion Slogan
The good thingsFew good Incentive programs but thats about it
The challengesManagement are stuck the 1980's. You dont get promoted or even adknowledge unless you have been there for more than x amount of years. All good ideas are taking by higher management and no recognition is ever shared. State Management are a waste of time and have no greater input to the company. Time spent does not mean more knowledge or understanding it simpl means more stale and complacent to the bigger picture. Very Backwards Company
