    I am no better a man bc of who lead me in the trenches, but only because of those who laid beside
    The good thingsThe only good thing about Myer Marion is the team members on the floor. While I don’t like some people in some departments, the staff more or less were supportive, kind, and considerate to one another.
    The challengesMyer marion faces a systematic challenge in terms of toxic work culture, performance standards, and general ethics. The management culture surrounding this store is astoundingly detrimental to one’s mental health. If you wish to keep your sanity, do not work here. Not only will you have to be your own manager, since the ones who employ you do not know how to do their jobs, they continue to criticise everything you do wrong, whether or not they would do the same thing in that situation. There is no praise, no reward, to anything that you do, and your efforts will be under appreciated, and you will be under valued.

    Don't expect to be chosen for a future role just because you have worked for them in the past.
    The good thingsEarning some extra money.
    The challengesThe pay is based on an agreement not an award and is therefore less on a weekend or public holiday than other employers. Changing management that don't see you as an individual.

    An unpleasant environment where working hard is not recognized or appreciated.
    The good thingsThere are no repercussions for being lazy, turning up late, being on your phone, or not showing up for your shift but the flip side to this is that you don't get any thank you for doing the right thing and working hard. Pay is the standard casual rate.
    The challengesWorking in a hot basement often with a 10 hour shift of standing, shift irregularity and cancellations, toxic team culture, seasonal staff are not welcomed, appreciated or included as part of the team. The work is tedious and laborious and there are no options for any variety in duties. There is very little communication with management and you are never asked how you are going, if you have any problems, or if you have any questions about anything.

    The good thingsThe brand is the only thing holding Myer together.
    The challengesNot a safe environment . Staff treat newbies however they want . Management were weak. No teamwork just everyone working mindlessly on their own . Customers were wanting constant discounts . Management not on the floor enough.
