The best place I have ever worked!
The good thingsA really pleasant work environment. I have one of the best managers of my career, so easy to engage with. A very supporting team who are all fabulous individuals to work with. A great place to work and genuine commitment to flexible working arrangements which increases productivity in my view.
The challengesLike most jobs, workload can be challenging at times, but its not constant and there is time to breath. Working with the Federal Department of Health is challenging. Dealing with individuals at the Department who are often not up to the job is difficult.

Great place to work, delivering independent Quality Use of Medicines Information to health professionals and consumers.
The good thingsIntelligent, hardworking teams. Diverse range of projects. Work life balance days 2/quarter. Open plan office and hot desking. Central location.
The challengesTechnology challenges with hot desking. Restructuring due to funding cuts. Doing more with less. Working until the job done means managers working long hours. PBS and TGA reviews take a long time.

    Uneventful
The good thingsSome employees are amicable and fun. Flexible working arrangements. Salary sacrifice.
The challengesThe work is routine. Limited room for progression. Employees skills and knowledge are not used to their full potential. Top down heavy with an excessive amount of middle management for a mid-sized company.

Collegiate workplace that's adjusting to the growing pains.
The good thingsWonderful collegial environment to work in. Your colleagues are some of the brightest, passionate and dedicated people you'll ever work with. This is also an organisation that really values and respects family and personal responsibilities, and work-life balance is encouraged and respected.
The challengesFor a relatively small agency, the organisation is extremely siloed. There's also an inherent paranoia (perhaps rightly so), that the government will slash funding, hence a rush to commercial some of the internal assets, which may not sit well with some. Decision making is also ad-hoc and not very consistent and carefully orchestrated.

Worthy mission and values driven organisation but top heavey and poor execution of strategy from the top.
The good thingsLots of smart people work here - good learning environment.
The challengesA passive aggressive undercurrent - passionate people who all think they are right.

I had the chalenge to help with implementing the new accounting Software, and I found staff extremely co-operative and friendly.
The good thingsThe atmosphere, the colleagues, the organisation was great to work. It felt good to be part of such a wonderful organisation. I cannot emphasise enough, how friendly everyone is there.
The challengesImplementing a new accounting software and educating staff to utilise it.

Needs a strategic rethink & management changes to retain staff
The good thingsMuch of the work and topics you are dealing with are very interesting. On the few projects that are done well you do feel like your work could help people.
The challengesA highly hierarchical business, not great at communicating with staff. Could be very petty. Medical professionals were not understanding of non-medical degree-ed staff. Some of the worst management experiences of my career. High expectations. Very poor at giving feedback on huge, exhausting projects. Staff considering a role here need to decide if they are comfortable with a not-for-profit moving to do work for big pharma with Venturewise.

Innovative, ever changing, friendly, supportive and challenging!
The good thingsNPS was one of the most friendly and exciting places I've worked. They were sincerely family friendly, they worked hard to consider your career path and you always felt included in decisions about your projects and your future.
The challengesBeing government funded did place some limitations on project scope
