I have really enjoyed my time with the company and I believe it has helped me up skill significantly
The good thingsThe culture within the workplace is great, there is always a massive emphasis on team work. The team are always rewarded for their achievements and everyone's hard work never goes unnoticed.
The challengesIt is a very fast paced environment although I believe this helps with personal development and productivity.

I wouldn't wish this job on my worst enemy.
The good thingsThe colleagues I worked with directly were excellent and the experience gained was valuable.
The challengesManagement look down on employees and consider them as less than themselves. The lessons I learned there I'll carry with me for life, because they wrote the book on what not to do.

    Omni-cares about no-one but themselves!
The good thingsI loved the clients and the joy they had whenever we were able to help them and show them care. They were so appreciative. I had some amazing co- workers and we had each others support when the working environment became toxic. As to the workplace environment? The good thing was leaving.
The challengesOmnicare! The management describe the environment as supportive and like a family. I have never felt so unsupported in my life. They micro-manage, they apportion blame for their own shortcomings and break people down.

High staff turnover. Management don't care about the well being of care coordinators.
The good thingsWorking with clients and aiding them at home. Salary was good and bonuses were good. Made some good friends.
The challengesManagement - Didnt feel supported when i worked there. They didn't care about the well being of care coordinators leading to a high turnover rate. It was like a revolving door. They kept everyone back at the end of the day to fill shifts without over time.

Working for Omni-care gives you all the right tools to help you with your support worker journey, with very great training that is also frequent and having on call staff members at all times to help support while you work. Also giving you a personal coordinator to help you every step of the way, mine being one the best. Overall experience was amazing.
The good thingsMeeting new people as you go, boosting my confidence as a support worker, staff are very nice
The challengesSomething I found challenging was the clients behaviour at some moments which my very beautiful coordinator supported me through

The good thingsSupportive Management team, great culture and indirectly making a difference in people's lives. Omni-Care is an amazing place to work.
The challengesConstant changes in Aged Care reforms which can't be helped and the chaos of Covid - however, Management are very supportive! A great solutions focused mindset.

Great workplace with lots of work if you say yes to shifts
The good things99% of the clients are nice and welcoming, there are a few who are very wary due to bad experience with other support workers. Once you have presented to the clients as a trusting person, he or she will be very friendly. I found the workload to be massive at times especially during holidays but its all about maintaining a balance. Management, from my experience, is great with friendly reminders and government imposed safety rules.
The challengesSome clients tend to call in for assistance and then cancel at the last minute. It has happened and the resolution is to call it in to report this.

The good things- Attractive staff benefit - you got a day off on your birthday and cash reward
The challenges- bad management -Micromanagement environment -Some management level staff just not having the proper qualification and just because they have been in the company for many years -No external training opportunities

Omni-Care was a great company to work for. Well rewarded by director, generous wages for the minimal experience needed. A great opportunity for anyone who is keen to work in the industry
The good thingsI worked as a Care Coordinator for Omni-Care for over 3 years. The company has a structured training program and a buddy system for new staff. They are very clear with their mission, values and goals. They always tried to develop their staff and promote from within. I did see other staff come and go and believe that was due to the individual not giving the new job a proper go and gave up prematurely.
The challengesThe pace of the role was an initial struggle as there was always a demand to arrange support - but that is what the job is about. With time I gained the experience and confidence needed to do the role.

    frustrating
The good thingsgetting to know clients and their families in their own homes. some were a real pleasure to care for. I liked the variety.
The challengesnever enough shifts., many shifts only I hour. many late cancellations as well. Too much time spent stuck in traffic trying to get to clients homes on time. co- ordinators did not understand the frustrations of Support Workers and ,really did not care, as we were just another faceless voice on the phone they had to dismiss asap! I was always asking for more shifts, but left frustrated when they constantly recruit for more casual SWs

    Exhausting and mostly miserable
The good thingsSome lovely people, scheduling some great Support Workers for shifts
The challengesWorking a ridiculous shift, 8.30am - 4pm then traveling home to turn on laptop and mobile work all night while trying to get some sleep, return to office 8am - 5pm. Unsafe OH&S. Consequently high turnover
