The work was okay, but management not nice.
The good thingsSome friendly staff, the contact staff were nice.
The challengesCorporate staff and management were super toxic, looked down on other staff, and would speak openly and nasty about others.

My experience with Pareto Phone has been great! I'm so glad I made the leap to work here. I've settled into the team so well and couldn't have asked for a better work culture and vibe - after all, you spend so much of your life at work, it's gotta be fun AND be dog-friendly.
The good thingsThe good: Team Culture, Supportive Leadership, Flexible Working, Dog-Friendly Office.
The challengesThe challenges: Some technology is due for an upgrade.

Easy work, average money, no work/life balance, poor management but overall great place to get your foot in the door for office/admin roles.
The good thingsSome cool people to work with and calling on behalf of amazing charities.
The challengesManagement acting like they care and taking all feedback on board then basically disregarding it and making no changes.

Whilst challenging to raise donations for charities and causes it certainly feels great to be part of a big team that helps saves lives and save our planet.
The good thingsDisclosure I work at Pareto and like all things in life there are good and not so. But the good are great. The charity partners we help are very grateful for the donations and donors we provide for them. Going into work and knowing that you are part of a team that is helping some of the most well-loved and respected charities in Australia and New Zealand feels good. It is worthy and yes it is hard work. And it is great work too.
The challengesFundraising is very difficult. The people we talk with are very generous because as well as their own lives they are happy to help others. And currently with the prices of everything going up there is less to go around. But we still have to have the conversations because it is too important to ignore.

The company I've always dreamed of working for.
The good thingsGreat career opportunity. I started as a tele-fundraiser and quickly moved into the recruitment coordinator role. Relaxed environment, supportive team leaders, great management.
The challengesAs a tele-fundraiser the challenges were hearing no a lot and getting hung up on however this is just something you get used to eventually.

I'm thankful for the opportunities the company provided me
The good thingsManagement was ok. Not amazing, but we cannot expect anything to be perfect. They are always limited to what they can do, having to answer to higher ups etc. The team i was in was amazing. Honestly, every single one of them were brilliant and our direct line couldn't have been more perfectly placed. My team was the most supportive, where they could be and very rarely did i ever find myself without help when I needed it. If you don't ask the question though you will never know the answer.
The challengesAs with any small office it is very cliquey. If you succumb to the pack mentality easily, it isn't a place for you. Different teams of different people make it quite challenging to get along all the time. But it is quite possible to work with everyone there. You can work with someone and not like them, that is perfectly fine.

Training and Recruitment ManagerThank you for taking the time to write a review to provide insight to Job Seekers researching our company. A sales environment isn't the right fit for everyone and know that the pressure of trying to achieve sales targets can sometimes be overwhelming, particularly for someone new to sales or fundraising. This we try to make very clear from the very beginning of our recruitment process and throughout our training process. I'm sorry to hear you felt afraid to lose your job during your time at Pareto Phone. Our aim is to provide an adaptive managerial style, catered to the individual to empower them, as adults, to make their own decisions and take ownership for their own performance. We're also committed to providing support, feedback and coaching in line with our behaviours based approach. If a Fundraiser is following our process, taking onboard feedback and putting in the effort, with a positive attitude, we're willing to continue supporting them knowing that the results will come off the back of that. Unfortunately, this job isn't for everyone and that's okay. All the best with your future endeavors.

Training and Recruitment ManagerThank you for taking the time to leave a review and provide feedback. We put a lot of time and effort into keeping our staff engaged and involved in the culture of our call centre. It's true that it can be repetitive once you're a veteran Fundraiser! I've noticed some people taking advantage of various games on their PCs (Snake and Solitaire seem to be a favorite) to entertain themselves between calls (certainly not on them!) and a few chess sets floating around.

Diverse, Great Culture, Some real characters and a great job in all!
The good thingsSounds pretty chumpy but the people and the culture @ Pareto is amazing! Not what I expected when referred by a friend after years of working for myself but needing a new strong routine and good culture injection I tried this job out and have loved every day there.
The challengesGetting used to such a positive vibe. Dead set takes time to adjust to people who actually care. Took me about a month but I guess everyone is different.

Training and Recruitment ManagerThank you for providing feedback on your experiences in our company. I'm glad you enjoy the environment here at Pareto Phone - we put a lot of time and effort into encouraging a friendly, positive and inclusive environment. I get what you're saying, I definitely need a coffee in the morning before I can face the barrage of "Good Morning!" from everyone each day.

A workplace that expects unattainable results from staff members who are given no sense of security in their position.
The good thingsA sociable workplace with very nice and welcoming casual staff members. Provided with sales training and coaching. Definitely not a career move, but the company is an option for full time work when you desperately need a job.
The challengesPoor communication from managers and staff are treated as though they are disposable. Entire workforce on casual contracts. Almost weekly recruitment and dismissal of staff, so no sense of security. KPIs can be unattainable on some of the more problematic campaigns.

Training and Recruitment ManagerThank your for taking the time to review our work place to share with others. I'm glad you found our staff to be welcoming and friendly and I hope you made some great friends during your time here! I can appreciate feeling like there is no sense of security as a casual employee. There is an option to become permanent after 3 months, provided performance and attendance are good. I know some of our Fundraisers that have been here for years, have chosen to remain as casual for the higher rate of pay - depends on what's important to you With around 150 staff in an outbound sales environment, it is unavoidable that people will leave regularly whether it's because the job isn't for them or to pursue other opportunities (perhaps return home if they're a backpacker). It certainly keeps me busy! All the best in your future endeavours.

Lack of communication and professionalism from management
The good thingsPaid on time when shifts are available
The challengesShifts get cut for weeks on end with minimal notice. Expectations are high and actual support is low. Honest communication of standards is lacking throughout the process.

Training and Recruitment ManagerThank you for taking time to review our company. I'm glad you were paid on time. I've worked here for 6 years and the only time I can remember that pay didn't go in, it was a day late and the call centre paid for cabs/rideshare to work, put on breakfast and lunch! We hire people for full time casual positions with a 38 hour per week with the option to go permanent after 3 months. There are times where our clients may not want to do as much fundraising (usually Christmas) and we try our best to give everyone work. It's not always possible and so we prioritise people that reliably show up to every shift. Unfortunately, this is the reality of casual employment. All the best in your future endeavours.

If you need a job and are somewhat social, great place to work. Future employers will look at high volume cold calling favourably. Not a place to further your career. Avoid sleeping around with coworkers, it won't end well.
The good thingsFun place to work if you can get into the spirit of things. Great culture, cool people. Obviously it's a call centre so there can be a bit of drama, but that's unavoidable. Pay is above average for an entry level call centre role.
The challengesIt can get tiring with the sheer volume of calls. You're also not going to progress.

Good to get your good through the door of employment, nothing else.
The good thingsGood for a first job. No experience required. People were fun at the time.
The challengesIt's a strict sales job. If you don't meet target they may threaten to fire you. Then next day tell you you're a super star..
