Great opportunity, but a toxic workplace
The good thingsReceived higher duties asap, which gave me great experience and knowledge
The challenges- Received higher duties asap, which led to burnout. - No compensation for the work being done. - Outdated policies leading to an unequal workplace - Zero support to succeed.

A declining business that will eventually be subsumed - look elsewhere.
The good thingsQuite nice office space.
The challengesMany incompetent, unqualified board members and poor upper management. The Chair and CEO need to be properly held to account.

Being part of the new team at Police Bank I would welcome anyone with open ideas and heart to get on board.
The good thingsPolice Bank is a passionate organisation built around supporting it's members, whilst remaining strong to their core member groups, it is also welcomes new business opportunities in my local community. My role provides me an excellent opportunity to build and open new doors. I am really enjoying my new role!
The challengesWith the ever changing banking world, banks need to versatile in thinking and adapt to changing environments quickly. Limitations on systems can create delays, however Police Bank fully acknowledges the any limitations and actively looks for alternative pathways forward.

Since starting with the bank in late 2018 I have seen it develop and grow from a place behind peers to a business that will no doubt remain relevant and sustainable for many years to come.
The good thingsWorking on positive changes to whole organisation. staff all genuinely want to do well in their roles and for the members. New top down leadership which I believe in.
The challengesWorking through structural and organisational change while achieving above market results.

I loved working so closely with Police, however I hated working for Police Bank, there was never any formal training or consistency between branch staff and senior management. Alot of excuses were thrown around and there was no accountability for the lack of positive culture within the business.
The good thingsThe customer base, the diversity within staff in permanent work areas, the locations in proximity to police stations
The challengesPoor Senior Management, Lack of training, zero opportunity for career development, Reluctance to change, Zero team building or opportunity to know staff, very archaic ways of doing business

The good thingsGeneral 9 - 5 workdays Demonstrated investment in change/growth for the organisation and its people Positive & approachable CEO
The challengesLegacy, clunky systems Legacy staff against change/improvements create resistance

A great place to work with a team focus
The good thingsPolice Bank is a great place to work, throughout my time here I have felt part of the team and there is always a helping hand when required. The company has undergone a very positive change and is going in a brilliant direction, I would highly recommend a career at the Bank, there is opportunity to develop and your voice is always heard.
The challengesNo challenges different from any other job

Not a good workplace to be if you want a challenge and development opportunities. The company is resistant to change and not willing to improve processes. They are reactive not proactive, cannot learn and develop any skills here.
The good thingsPeople are mostly friendly, small office so you get to know everyone
The challengesVery behind in technology. High volume of admin. Resistant to change. Some members in the Management team are highly incompetent in their role.

Every day is a challenge but people are friendly
The good thingsMost of the people are nice there and the pay isn't too bad for a Mutual organisation, although not as good as with other banks.
The challengesThere is no direction or strategy and the management over the past three years or so has been terrible.

Was great but now do up Senior Management and CEO lack of insight into how important it is to value your employees the place is in ruins. Management has forgotten who Police Bank was started for.
The good thingsThe Members and fellow co-workers
The challengesManagement is destroying the culture of this Bank. Previously it was all for the Members but now it seems to be pandering to Management egos with very limited leadership skills. Great Staff are leaving in droves.

Police Bank needs to treat staff better and show more respect before they expect staff to be loyal & treat their customers better.
The good thingsSome great fun people, it's a smaller mutual bank so you get yourself exposed more to many different areas of the business and you learn more.
The challengesIncompetent & Shocking Leadership, It has seen staff dropping like flies in the last 2 years during the current management so there's high loss of productivity & engagement with too many errors.

The good thingsDealing with Police was great, 9-5 hours with no weekends. Always business development road trip opportunities.
The challengesIncompetent management with ZERO training. Lending system is 10 years behind. Have to pay for parking (Newcastle Branch). Lack of support from direct manager with failing with the basics.
