Badly organized and poor communication. Do not recommend
The good thingsSome of the staff are really nice and I have met great people.
The challengesNo organization. Was meant to follow a clas schedule with same people but every week, had new people coming. It was overwhelming when the site is fairly small, did not get any introduction of the people joining the class. just a quick "he is quiet". So dealing with new people jumping in a middle of the class was stressful. For an organization that deals with mental, they have poor communication and did not seemed to care about their own staff overload. The way I have learnt I won't work for them is as well cowardly and last minute. They did not seems to care.

Best place I've worked in 40 years
The good thingsGreat team connection supported by a management that practices what they preach. Good pay, conditions, and culture.
The challengesMental health clients can be challenging. Funding from different levels of government health and insurance bodies can be uncertain

    Dictator style leader.
The good thingsSome frontline staff are exceptional but they are taken advantage of.
The challengesIf you're a person who needs to question processes or likes to question things in the name of improvement, this is not the place for you. The only people that seem to survive working here are those that are happy being told what to do.

Multiple conflicting values from bottom to top. Makes it confusing
The good thingsFlexibility, little oversight, work with great people on the ground, learned heaps along the way.
The challengesLeadership is non existent. PCCS on paper sounds incredible, on the ground it is the polar opposite. Poor management, no self correcting mechanisms in place across the board, just flush out staff yearly and start again

Learnt so much in the role, achieved really good outcomes for clients that were disenfranchised
The good thingsWFH & Outreach flexibility, colleagues, the clients you work with achieving best outcomes for mental health, working with other medical officers
The challengesPoor HR & management. Non-transparent communication of leadership & management. Really low pay - no standardized pay. Does not value people, see people as disposable. Managers & leaders not supportive, passive aggressive & dismissive.

Great clients and team but HORRIBLE management
The good thingsThe clients were fantastic to work with A passionate team of social workers who were wonderful to work with
The challengesMinimal to no support from management as they are as overworked as you. When I was there, no one had been with the company for more than 2 years. High employee turnover. I was expecting to be in a social precription position (connecting clients with low to medium mental health needs with services to reach their goals) instead ended up doing case management for high need clients with regular emergencies (e.g. child protection, family breakdown, loss of housing, Loss of income or Centrelink payments, mental health crisis)

    PCCS Team

    Great people, bad leader
The good thingsOne of the nicest group of people to work with but no one stays for more than a few months due to poor leadership from the top
The challengesThe CEO doesn't have any leadership, business or people skills and therefore can't keep staff. This keeps destabilising the company.
